Review summary

All and all it was a great time. Celebrating NYE on a cruise ship has been one of my favorite things to do ringing in the new year. The ship is smaller than the rest of the newer ships. As compared to the Anthem of the seas and the SeaPlex, There are not as many things to do. The crew was extremely friendly. The cruise director and entertainment staff were a lot of fun. The food was ok, except in the Chops Grill. The food at the restaurant was superb. I always make an effort to visit this restaurant once every voyage. It never disappoints.

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin was VERY reasonable for a holiday voyage. My thoughts were initially because it’s located under the Palladium theater. The theater did not pose a problem for noise at all. The location of the cabin ended up right next to the bow of the ship. You heard banging, hammering, tapping of metal most of the day starting around 0830. The very hardworking crew must have been welding most of the week. You also get the noises from the line winches during docking and pushing off. It was usually quiet by 4pm. Now if you can get pass that the cabin was surprisingly comfortable and larger than expected. There was plenty of closet and drawer space for storage. The bathroom was smaller than most newer ships. But I heard a bunch of other passengers complaining about the shower stall being small in their cabins as well.

We weren’t going to get off the ship, but decided to. Ended up doing the jet boat excursion which was reasonable and fun. You do get wet!!!! Once we were done the tour guides gave us no direction on what to do. We went to return our life vest inside and were told just to leave them outside with no other instruction. We walked back to port. We decided to get a drink at the gazebo bar near Senior Frogs... Don’t bother. Albeit a nice atmosphere. Food was WAY,WAY OVER PRICED. Drinks cost $31 for a bohemian mule and a frozen rum punch. Upon returning to the ship we were getting harnessed to take a bracelets but expected $5 in return. These ladies were very rude and obnoxious. It’s a shame the locals act like this. I most likely will not get off the ship next visit.

We decided to do a Segway tour on our own. We needed to hail a cab in order to get there. I found the dock very disorganized trying to hail a cab. I initially attempted to get an Uber but no cars were available. So we went to the taxi kiosk and pointed us to the area but had to wait quite a while because we weren’t taking a shuttle bus to the designated area where they expected the passengers to go in Cocoa Beach. The Space coast Segway was close to the ship but couldn’t walk from the dock. We had a Small group of 4 people. It was fun just to go around the port and the cove. We ended up enjoying the bars in the cove before using Uber to get back to the ship.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Coco Cay is the perfect day. It was a beautiful day. Only 2 ships in port. It was easy to get a seat by the pool and the beach. The pool bar had music. I liked this private island much better than Labadee. Much cleaner!
