Review summary

We enjoy going to the different ports, seeing new places and learning about the history, the people and the culture. We especially liked the tour in Barbados on the Atlantis submarine. The tour itself was excellent, although the wait time for it was long. The My time dining worked out better than we anticipated as we went to dinner early each evening at about 5:15 and we always had the same waiters, which is a feature we like!  WE were excited about going to St. Lucia and did like our tour but were unhappy with the volume of tourists at each of the tour stops and the number of tour buses at each stop. It was chaotic and overwhelming, making the tour seem very rushed.  Less people at the stops and more time would have been good. There were three cruise ships in port and that was part of the problem! We especially like leaving from our local port of Baltimore, but hope that some new tours will be added to new ports as we have been to most of them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined in the dining room for BReakfast Lunch and dinner most of the time and enjoyed having the same waiters for Breakfast and lunch each day. They learned our preferences and were very accommodating! The food was excellent !

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We enjoyed most of the entertainment. WE especially liked the female singer who had been on Broadway. She was excellent. WE didn't like the female comedian. The musicians were excellent. Shows okay. WE enjoyed the fellow who sang the Happy Days theme but had seen him before.

Service and Staff

The staff did a great job! Our waiters for My Time dinner, Francesco and Gene were great! They work hard! They always had a smile for everyone! Our breakfast and lunch waiters, Theresa and Raut were very good as well! They went out of their way to provide excellent service.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
WE like the beds together and that does make it more difficult to get around the bed at night but it is doable. The cabin was kept clean and well taken care of daily

Ship tip

We like the size of the Grandeur of the Seas. We're not sure we would like the mega ships as well! it is a friendly and caring atmosphere away from Home!

St. John's, Antigua

We went to the beach in a shared taxi and it was reasonable. All the taxi drivers were in orange shirts and they had a good system for helping you get where you needed to go. They didn't overcharge.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Castries, St. Lucia

Great island but too many tourists.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Fun shopping but still many tourists, 5 ships in port at once!

did you enjoy the ship itself, I was on the grandeur last April and it was horrible the staff was rude, my friends cabin had bathroom issues like the toilet didn't work for first 3 days. everything was shut down by 12:30 even the casino that had a sign open till 3am, was closed by 1.
