Shame Part 1 This is not the Caribbean, it's 'The Royal Caribbean'. Not! If you're interested in an old, noisy ship (every morning around 4:30am, it sound like chairs were being dragged across my ceiling. If you desire the following for your love ones, a mildew infested, urine smelling ship, then fly to Baltimore and sail on the Grandeur of the Sea. I cannot begin to explain how terribly disappointed I was with the ship. When I boarded the ship and saw the condition of my room I immediately went to guest services and asked if I could be moved to another room and they politely informed me that there were no rooms available. The ship were completely sold out . My room was cleaned correctly on the 10th day of my cruise after the Housing Supervisor overheard me complaining about the state of my room. He came to my room and sincerely apologized for the filthiness of the room. My disappointment was vast, from the filthiness of my stateroom, the food, the highly soiled discolored furniture in the stateroom, the carpet stained with residue and mediocre ship entertainment. As a diamond member I have had the pleasure of sailing on some absolutely fabulous ships that are truly indicative of Royal Caribbean's standard. The Grandeur of the Sea does not represent the pride, the beauty and the maintenance of a ship in the 'Royal Family'. When we vacation, we are building memories to last a lifetime, meeting new people from around the world. Being a part of the Royal Caribbean family makes our worlds unite in a beautiful way. I shared my comments and concerns with the Guest Services Manager directly inside a guest bathroom by the casino and described the smell of urine and feces in the bathrooms on the ninth floor(located next to the dining room) and the bathrooms on the fourth floor(located next to the main dining) . Finally, the bathrooms located outside the Diamond lounge. It's important to mention that during my conversation with the guest service manager that two guest walked in and concurred that the bathroom smelled terrible as well. I found that I was complaining every day and I was being ignored. I decided to meticulously document and photograph my plight along the way. I truly believe that this is a ship that could be salvaged if they invested time and energy to revitalize her. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, see for yourself. My stateroom before it was cleaned on the 10th day and the pictures after. Sincerely, Chestina Silverman

Grandeur is scheduled for a refit the end of April & beginning of May. We were on her last April & all of us did not see what u did. Their crew is the warmest, friendliest of any ship we've been on. They all went out of their way to make us feel like we were the most important people in the world. We're sailing on her again in Sept & can't wait! It'll be easier to keep her clean after she's had a few weeks of refurbishing.

Yes, it seems like cruises are not what they used to be.

I am unable to see your photos.  Maybe you need to re-post them, please? I am so sorry you had a bad cruise.  It seems to be the theme this week.
