Review summary

This was our 2nd time aboard the Grandeur. Our first cruise was during her 2nd season in 1997 so almost 20 yrs later! We had a large ocean view cabin with a porthole window. The 1st time we had a suite with a balcony. Next time we cruise, may spend the extra money to have the spacious room with a balcony. The staff on this boat is so fantastic! There is NEVER a staff member that seems to be unhappy or in a bad mood. They are very attentive and friendly. They make the cruise what it is!! I have seen reviews that say they were disappointed with the food being cold or basic but I have to completely disagree. We had a group of 22 people aboard and we were able to have group dining where we were at 3 tables all together for dinner every night. Same head waiter and asst every night. One of them was Cyrus, who has been with RC for over 20 yrs!! Talk about personality, love him!! Our pool bartender, Simon, was the best, most attentive pool bar guy!! He has an awesome personality as well! Boat just needs updating like any 20 yr old boat would need. Love the small size as you are not overwhelmed by too many cruisers and staff members. The cruise director, Paul, does a great job also. Next time we go, we will order the drink package EARLY on to get the best prices. I was a skeptic but now I am a realist and say it is WELL worth the money if you do it early enough. We were on board as a family to do my fathers burial at sea, and the arrangements to have this done at a particular location happened so seamlessly. The staff was extremely respectful and helpful and for that we truly appreciated everything. Thank you RC for another great experience!!

Agree about the Grandeur and the size of the ship. It is easy to get around on and we never had to backtrack to find our way. Loved the staff and their friendly, can do attitude. Would definitely cruise on it again
