Review summary

This is the fourth time my travel partners and I have taken this same cruise!  We enjoy heading to the Caribbean and don't have a burning desire to diversify our travels.  Our experience with Grandeur has been excellent, with the quality of shows, musical entertainment, and customer service rising with each trip, although we never had a complaint.  The shore excursions can be disappointing, especially for a general "island tour",  but that is not unique to this line. Baltimore is a wonderful port with easy access ad a very smooth embarkation process.  I especially enjoy travel with Royal Caribbean and have already booked another Baltimore departure for Nov., 2016.

Ship experiences

Onboard Activities

Something for everyone - many more activities of a greater variety offered. Do all or none!

Entertainment

Evening shows very enjoyable, and music provided during day around the ship offered a style for all tastes - was excellent.

Service and Staff

Dining room staff (Carlos and Minglu of table 333) efficient, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Highly suggest regular dinner seating as opposed to freestyle, as service much more personalized.

Ship Quality

Really easy to get around on this ship - well designed. VERY clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Small but well layed out. Three of us stay together and I get the upper bunk at the age of 66. NO problem. Clean and our cabin steward was superb. As usual.

Ship tip

Recommend eating lunch and dinner in the Gatsby if you don't enjoy the snatch and grab scenarios sometimes experienced in the Windjammer. Not fault of staff, due to "grabby" passengers. BUT - the choice of food is good, and all should be able to eat well in the Windjammer. Service is good.

Enjoy the beach, lunch, and sights of this lovely island. Zipline is great! Don't expect Hawaii, but the beaches are fine.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We have been there so many times, we stay on board and have a quiet time with the ship to ourselves!!

Take a side trip to St. John if you can in addition to going to town to shop on your own.
