Pros and Cons of Fall Foliage cruise

Sail Date: October 16, 2014

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We took this cruise the final week it is offered; it was too late for any fall foliage, so the title was a misnomer. The cruise was  filled with those using canes, walkers, wheelchairs &/or motorized scooters.. very few younger cruisers were aboard. Those thinking about taking this particular cruise should be forewarned about both these facts.

The ship is a fine one and the staff is terrific- to a fault, each one is wonderful. The entertainment was first class every night. The meals were innovative...a different countries' theme each evening, and overall was very good.

In short I would recommend taking this cruise early in the season. Although I enjoyed the trip I would not take it again.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
innovative, plentiful and very good.
Service and Staff
Children's Programs N/A
Onboard Activities
There wasn't much to do onboard because while at sea the weather was rough and the top decks were off limits.
Destinations and Excursions
Two were excellent and two were very blustery and very cold!
Cabin / Stateroom
Our shower curtain had to be fixed, the soap dish in it broke, the safe wouldn't open three times, and the entire heating system had to be rebuilt, encompassing 3 days of work.
Baltimore, Maryland
Portland, Maine
It was a gorgeous sunny day and great for walking.
Bar Harbor, Maine
Although it ws close to frigid, this was a great stop- wonderful four touristy boutiques.
Saint John, New Brunswick
nothing to do or see really
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Another gorgeous, sunny day. It shows what can be done when you have a waterfront.

You won't get lost!
