The Princess Cruise to Hawaii exceeded our expectations in several ways: crew was helpful, professional, and made you feel part of their family. Hard to accomplish this on a large ship. The safety protocols and COVID testing was done as professionally as possible when dealing with over a 1,000 passengers. Excursions were outstanding and the sailing even when the seas were a little rough, were always smooth. Will do this cruise again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation included a request from the State of Hawaii to have an immediate COVID test prior to boarding. Process was handled flawlessly by Princes cruises.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food on Princess was excellent and very comparable to a Holland America cruise.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Activities on board were interesting and enjoyable, except when we lost at Bingo.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Productions show were outstanding but a few of the other performances would be better suited at a circus, e.g. Jugglers.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The cruise staff were exceptional, especially in the main dining room.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
All areas on the ship were well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was perfectly placed to reach all the activities, food, and entertainment. It was quiet, clean, and with a very comfortable bed.
Ship tip
Grand Princess does an outstanding job keeping your occupied and happy, and with plenty of good food. They also did mandatory COVID testing as required by the State of Hawaii.
Did a Princess Cruise tour of the Movie Sites around Kauai. One of the best excursions we have ever taken on any cruise in over 20 years of cruising. Would highly recommend this excursion in Kauai. Very professional and interesting.
We toured the 2018 lave flow event that originated near the Hawaii Volcano National Park. This excursion needs some work. Guide did not provide much feedback when touring the 2017 Lava Flow sites on the Big Island. A more seasoned tour guide would correct this issue.
Spent all the time in this port on the ship. Have toured Ensenada before and have seen enough to know to stay on the ship, not a favorite port to visit.
Disembarkation was good, only hiccup was that several crew directed our party to the wrong deck to disembark. Actual disembarkation was on deck 7, but we were directed to Deck 4 and then 5.
Thank you for the review. We’ll be on that same cruise April 4. Nice to see you can do a private excursion. Did you book here or with someone else? Or just wait until you got to the port?
