Review summary

Not worth it! Spend your money somewhere else. Too long of a cruise with too many days on the boat with little to do.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room food was pretty good. Pretty basic dishes for the most part. I've had much better from Princess before.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities on this cruise was lacking. No poolside music, nothing really to do and the entertainment sucked.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The dancers couldn't perform and they were ok, but all other bands were awful. Not even worth going out at night. The main theater had the only decent show and because of that we got turned away (too many people.) If they had more options on the ship, it wouldn't be so crowded there.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Getting to dining halls, stairwells, etc was bad - terrible design of ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Go on a different cruise. This was really an old person cruise, limited activities and actually really boring. I've been on many cruises and this was my least favorite - by far!

I love the Grand Princess and everything about it from the food to the casino to the entertainment and especially the other passengers, amazing crew

I did this cruise a couple of years ago and would it was one of the best cruises I went on. I had no problems with getting around, and everything was easy to get to. Food was good and shows okay, but I am not really into the string quartet type of music. Plenty to do on ship, so that amount of complaining I would suggest you don't cruise anymore or go on shorter cruises with a different cruise line that meets your entertainment needs.

I was on this cruise...for first time cruisers please understand that the longer the cruise...the older the passengers...we are on the early side of 60...and will normally be on the young side on a 15 day cruise...they had to cancel dancing performances because of the waves from a storm...dance parties on a Hawaiian cruise only happens when the ship is leaving the port unless weather makes it unpleasant...lots of dancing all night long in the explorers lounge...the wheelhouse bar...and until early morning in the onefive lounge...there are youth areas and staff for three age groups...this cruise there were so many activities that there were many conflicts...if these cruisers were expecting pool side parties in rain and high waves or expecting a booze cruise on a long cruise...then they should keep their cruising to 7 day or less Mexican or Caribbean Cruises ... but then again ...some folks enjoy complaining...so this might be their perfect vacation

I agree with this review. This ship has horrible entertainment, mediocre food (horrible buffet) and little to do activity wise. My least favorite ship to date.

I would imagine your surprise at showing up for your cruise without having any idea what the itinerary was and how many days you would be at sea. If only this vital information could have been communicated ahead of time...
