Highly recommend this trip. We didn't know just how much we would like it, worried about all of the Sea Days, but all in all, it was a truly great trip.

Onboard Activities

They were just okay, but I didn't do many of them, so that's why the OK. I wasn't interested.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The musicals and muscians bring this score up, as did the magician. The two comedians we heard, were not great...the last one, offensive/devisive and my husband almost walked out.
Children's Programs
We had no children on the cruise.
Service and Staff

Loved them all!
Ship Quality

The Grand Princess is aging, and you can tell, but it was still a good and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was roomier than I had expected and always cleaned up so nicely by the steward.
Ship tip
Don't forget to have Tea in the afternoon at the DaVinci. Save room, however. We were never not full on the trip. ;)
A good long time in port allowed for a good visit to many sites. We used the GyPSy app as we drove to Pearl Harbor, then the Dole Plantation, over to the Pali, Hanameua Bay and inside of Diamond Head Crater. A great day.
Love this port, but almost down rated it some because we would have liked more time to be able to drive to Hana on our own. We rented a jeep and almost got to Hana before turning around. We used theGyPSy app on a phone to have a guided tour on the road to Hana.
We rented a jeep and drove ourselves around. We used the GyPSy app to give us a guided tour of the area. We were on this island 36 years ago, on our honeymoon staying at Poipu Beach. This was where we headed to for snorkeling, which happened to be the only beach not under a "brown water watch" after the torrential rains that Kauai had the week before.
We had an excursion with a local who drove us up to Volcano, where we saw hot lava from the Jagger observatory! He took us to off the beaten paths to see steam vents and explained things that we had never heard about (Pele's tears and hair). Saw the Thursten Lava Tube then he took us to Hilo to the Mauna Loa Nut Factory, Hawaiian Candy Factory and black sand beach, where we saw 4 turtles sunning themselves.
