Review summary

Overall we enjoyed the experience but would consider other cruise lines before booking another Princess Cruise.

Embarkation

Very slick and well organised experience!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good and service was exceptional apart from Fast Food bars i.e. Burgers looked like they had been cremated, Hot Dogs the same and Pizzas quite tasteless. Service was well below the rest of the ship's high standards, a smile costs nothing!!!

Entertainment

Stage shows were just okay. The singers' harmonies were mostly very good but individually pretty weak. We think most of the shows were far too ambitious for the calibre of the performers on board. Dwight was just okay. The five piece (or six-piece?) band featuring the Blonde Lady were very good and versatile 'style-wise' however, she really needs to smile a lot more and, at least pretend, she is enjoying herself! The Magician was very good. As for Matt, the Cruise Director and his team, notably 'Kat' (the very 'Shouty' lady) I am sorry to say the whole entertainment events were conducted like a Pontin's holiday camp! As British travellers we were so disappointed, and embarrassed. Matt, representing the UK as a First Class Cruise Director, was in our opinion mostly unprofessional and inappropriate, literally thinking some of his 'banter' was funny, unfortunately it came across as rude and somewhat insulting! We have cruised over a dozen times, with various Cruise Lines, and cannot believe that Princess Cruises would consider this Entertainment team as 'World Class'.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Special thanks to our Cabin Steward, Allan, who provided excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble and always delivered with a smile.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design of the Ship was passenger friendly, however some parts of the Ship are dated and need renovation.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin had everything we needed and beds were very comfortable. The balcony and furniture were covered in splashes of white paint which could have been cleaned off.

Ship tip

Do not expect World Class Entertainment, lower your expectations.
