We thoroughly enjoyed dining in the Windjammer...even in the evening! We would just go to dinner, at our leisure, and wear casual clothes. The food was delicious!
Do NOT miss out on the amazing entertainment on the Freedom! The ice show, production shows, and comedians were all fantastic!
The sandwiches at Sorrento's on the Promenade were wonderful. And great desserts too. The only thing I saw there that you had to pay for was the sushi. All the food in Windjammer was very good. And the dinners in Galileo's were fabulous. Go early for the ice show as it fills up fast but is worth it.
The pizza on the promenade is frozen pizza. Not as good as it used to be. Cupcake cupboard is a pleasant addition. If you're looking for a good cup of free coffee, Promenade café has self service beverages at back of shop. Excellent snacks.
The food in the dining room was excellent.
the best part of this trip were the shows ,and bring your own bed if you want to sleep without getting bruised ribs or your back and yes bring your own pillow. food ok .
If it is your first cruise on a VOYAGER or FREEDOM class ship, spend the first day exploring the entire ship to locate all of the features, venues and activities that are available.
I was hoping they had better food selection in the WindJammer. My suggestion would to change the food selection every such as Asian day, Mediterranean day, Jamaican food day etc....
Don't forget to order your photos before leaving. Once you leave the ship, you an not order photos. The Disney cruise allows it but not Royal. On our last day, we were focused on packing and filling out forms... that we neglected to order our photos that we had been viewing throught our journey.
This is a BIG, loud, bustling, overcrowded ship.
Dining in buffet was disappointing. Dining in dining room was good.
Family ( small kids ) oriented. Entertainment targeted towards kids and families. Needs more quality adult entertainment.
Don't go to breakfast and lunch later, like 8:30 and 1pm. Go early like 7-7:30 and 12noon, because the dining room (leonardo's) is the only one open and it's very popular, especially because 4000 people have to eat. The salad bar at lunch is excellent! Breakfast buffet upstairs (early) is nice.
again - buy packages in advance & on-line - saves money! On board - everything is expensive - for example - one 6x8 photo is $16.99 - & you know how many photos are taken - so buy a package & do it online. Beers are $7.99 each (with gratuity) - so if you have at least 4 to 5 per day - get a package
The windjammer had good food and was convenient for casual dress.
The traffic flow has horrible! I think the center food islands was problematic.
These pull people into the center and add to the congestion entering and exiting the seating area.
