Great Cruise by SteveW10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was huge! I think I like the smaller ships better. I met people on some of our excursions, but never saw them again. The excursions we took were great. The staff on the ship was excellent. Our Cabin steward Nadine was the best!

We had a wonderful time. by SteveW10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful and there was tons to do. I am so glad we went for the balcony stateroom! The extra space was worth every penny. The excursions we went on were wonderful. Stingray City was way too crowded with 2 ships in port, but other than that, it was great. I had a massage from the spa on the first night. It was a great massage, but a turn off when I was hounded about buying products.

A shopping mall over the sea by AT214

Sail date: /
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very good tecnhology used for the shows, but also a very good money maker which felt more like paying to be at a shopping mall which took more of the space of the ship. If you like the experience of looking at the ocean or feeling near the ocean I do not recommend this cruise. Many places had no windows or windows were packed with people. The only very nice place with ocean view was reserved for diamond members. Dining times were either 5:30 or 8:30 instead of 6:00 or 8:00. This times were not good I guess because in order to accomodate so many people. Very long lines to get off the ship and to get from island to the ship etc. I recommend better a smaller ship such as the Serenades of the Seas (also from Royal Caribbean) if you want a more ship going over the ocean experience, more relaxing with less people. however if you prefer to have more entertainment even if you have to wait and have long lines etc (more like an amusement park and shopping mall experience than cruising) then I recommed you this hsip.

A cruise line I won't use again. by PatriciaP8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our 2nd cruise and I only have Carnival to compare it to. In saying that I was extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to this trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had spoken to Royal on several different occassion's requesting good seating in the dinning room. We were placed it the very back corner. There was no view of anything....ocean, entertainment etc. The food in the dinning room was fair and VERY limited. The deserts were worse. Our waiter had the personality of a turtle. My expectations were really high considering we had just a wonderful experience on Carnival. The people working in the shops had no personality. My makeup mirror was crushed during luggage transport, the ship gave me a 30.00 ship credit for a 80.00 mirror. I have traveled many placed with this mirror and never a problem. The housekeeper scooped up a pair of my husbands paints with the sheets. We did get them back after finding them in a suitcase that I had in the closet. I would not have placed them there and we had searched that case 3 or 4 times prior to us finding them the night before we left. The ship has been very used and worn looking. Although clean looking. We eat at Chops and Portifino's. The food was good. Chops was better and I would highly recommend their ceasar salad. They served coke straight from the can and ice tea was in a regular tea glass....not exactly what I expected for fine dinning. The service was very good though. Portifino's ...the food was good but we watched the matrade get into arguments with the chef and waiters on two different occassions . Both Chop's and Portifino's must sit right over the engines because us and the tables vibrated the entire time you where eating.

Great Cruise by GunnarH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was spacious, even though there were more than 4000 passengers onboard. The fourth deck walk was great for walking. Gym equipment was well taken care off and a pleasure to use. The dining experience was excellent as was the cefeterias. Promenade shops were great. . Entertainment was unique.

Fabulous Cruise by AshleyP2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on this cruise! The ship was huge and immaculate. Islands were great. Labadee is owned by Royal Caribbean. So much fun! Zipline, water park and more. I got my hair braided there. Besides Labadde, we didn't do any of the excursions from the ship. We took cabs once we got to the islands. If you go to Jamaica take the juta tours bus and ask for Patrice. She took us around the island and to local spots. She was fabulous! In Cozumel we went to Mr. Sanchos. It is a beach with kayaking, snorkeling, food, drinnks, pool with a swim up bar. All inclusive for $50. pp. They also offer jetskis, snorkeling tours and more for an additional charge. We took a taxi there. In Grand Cayman we just took a taxi to the beach and brought our own snorkels. It was a nice relaxing day on the beach. Overall great experience.

Pretty good cruise overall by NormanB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Only our second cruise, so was a bit difficult to compare. Besides, our first cruise was 5 1/2 years ago on Holland America and the first cruise seems to be the best until you experience more of them. Overall, I think the Freedom of the Seas caters more to the 45 and under crowd.

Had a great time by JohnJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Be sure to schedule your excursions early in the day so you have more time on the island. I do miss the mid-night buffets that use to be served. The food was very good. We noticed a significant improvement in the variety and quality of the food in the Windjammer, than on our last cruise. I do not recall the name of the previous ship. The crew were very accomodating, friendly and professional.

Another Great sailing on Freedom!!! by GlenC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We sailed for a 2nd time in three months on the Freedom of the Seas. We were familiar with the ship and thought we had seen everything the first time on board, but there was so much more. Don't miss the Freedom on Ice'. 'love and marriage' and 'Quest' shows, the are top notch. Food was great and the Teen activities kept my teenager busy almost all the time with stuff he likes to do.

Awesome cruise vacation by MikeF5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family and I had a great time on this cruise. My wife was unsure about how much we would enjoy it, but we all had a blast. The ship staff goes out of there way to make you feel comfortable and anytime you ask for something, they take care of it. Ports were all fun and offered plenty of things to do. Many activities onboard were available and the food was excellant.
