We enjoyed our trip, despite the not so great weather and rocky seas. We realize that a lot was out of our control, but really wished they had gone to Perfect Day and skipped Nassau.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very efficient embarkation. Royal is very organizing and had lots of helpful staff.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room food was great and so was the service.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Our adult children enjoyed the flowrider and were able to do that several times. Rocky seas meant the rock wall was not available.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows on the ship were amazing. The ice show was fun and the performers were great skaters! The 2 musical shows were fantastic! From the pit orchestra, to costumes, to the talented performers, it was close to the best part of the day!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff are always very pleasant and polite. They worked hard on deck, picking up plates and glasses, to be sure the ship always looked clean. Our room was cleaned quickly and efficiently and we were always greeted kindly by the cabin staff.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was always clean and the interactive boards near all the elevators made it simple to find where you were going. Freedom of the seas is a smaller ship, so the promenade deck was narrow and could be difficult to navigate when it was crowded.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was a good size and comfortable. It could have had more storage space. Other royal ships we have been on have had better arranged storage areas for your things. We had one balcony door where the glass was all frosted and you could not see thru it. Spoke with guest services and the NEXT day, they offered us a different similar cabin, but by then we were unpacked, so we declined. They did send us a bottle of wine. So they were willing to make it right.
Ship tip
If you go to Nassau Bahamas book an excursion. It is not a very nice place so you would be better taking a boat to
The was a medical emergency on board and we returned to Miami and we were only able to go to one port. They chose to skip perfect day. That was Extremely disappointing as this was the spot we were most looking forward to!
Nassau is dirty, run down and there is not much to do there. They have the cheesy tourist shops and the fancy shops, but not much else. If we had known, we totally would have booked an excursion to a private island to have been able to enjoy the beach!
This was more disorganized than embarkation. The directions for getting off the boat were not clear. When we stepped out into the transfer area, the signs were not clear for how to get to our airport transfer, so we wandered a bit. Once on our transfer bus, we were near the back and when the driver gave directions about the airport stops we could not hear him!
Thanks for the review. Nassau can be intimidating because so much is right at the port. Go up one street and it’s a different atmosphere. I love the local tours that take you to Queens Staircase and the fort.
