Review summary

First off this was my 25th RC cruise. If it was my first, I’d never cruise again. This ship needs some serious refurbishment. The furniture and carpeting in the rooms is original to the ship, from 2006! Our room was not vacuumed, no soap the whole time, we asked for ice, only got it half the time, the list goes on. The staff was great, the food was typical. The worst part was the guests. They acted like trash. Literally. They left trash everywhere. They got stupid drunk. I’m all for having a good time but this was just disturbing. People puking from balconies onto people beneath them. People smoking weed constantly. I know it’s legal in some states but it’s still highly illegal on the ship as well as other countries visited. Come on RC, you aren’t checking?? It was a horrible experience. I’m seriously considering cancelling my six upcoming cruises. I am beyond disgusted. I would rate it one star out of five only because the staff was trying their best. Debarkation was another unorganized disaster. We waited in a line that roped through the dining room and took over half hour just to walk off!

Yes I was on that cruise and yes the crowd was a little raunchy. I usually cruise the middle of September or later but this was a younger crowd but it didn’t bother us. The dining room food was sketchy at best(not to good). I did a couple of specialty restaurants and they were excellent as usual. I just believe the timing right before Labor Day and people getting the last bit out of their summer vacation was the biggest reason the crowd was like that

Well I'm going on it next year and can't wait. You should do your research before booking certain ships (i learned to do this after booking an old Carnival ship a few years back). Freedom did get revamped during the pandemic (2021) but it did not get all the full refurbishment it was suppose to, which includes inside cabins and some of the suites and also they didn't put a few things they had been planning (I'm guessing budget cuts due to pandemic). I made sure to book a balcony which those did get refurbished. Too bad you didn't enjoy your time but you shouldn't let old decor or other people ruin your fun. It's still a decent ship with lots to do, those booked on it just watch some youtube videos and you can see all the improvements. Happy sailing!!

Well it was a 4 nighter. I have heard some say that the so called 'party people' like those 3 and 4 night cruises. I'm sure we all like to have a good time but you know exactly what I'm saying here 😏.

I don’t let other “guests” actions dictate my enjoyment. So easy to leave an area for another if it gets too rowdy or stupid for my taste. Looking back at your past reviews it seems to me you are all over the place. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy this one but my advise would be if the pool crowd is bad leave the pool area for somewhere else you enjoy being. Easy to look up when a ship was built, when it was refurbished or amped. Look before you book

What is it with weed smoking on ships! It's not the first time I read about it. Is it allowed now? Last time I cruised even medical Marijuana wasn't permitted on ships.
