Too short LOL We had an awesome family vacation cruise. The Freedom of the Seas exceeded all of our expectations and we look forward to cruising on similar or larger class ship next time. Coco Cay was the best port day possible for our family. It was more than just a Perfect Day at Coco Cay.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth. RC did a great job handling the heavy amount of guests. We had a 4 year old that required COVED screening prior to embarkation and that went smoothly too.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I was disappointed in the area compared to a recent Carnival Cruise our family took in March. Our dining room table was reassigned but we were not told which created some confusion for our party of 6. The Hibachi experience was almost worthless expect for Dodje who really connected with our 4 year old to give him a good experience. The Hibachi price was way over priced for what the guests receive. I would not book that ever again.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Lots of great activities to do on the ship and not enough time to do them :) We spent most of our daylight hour on ship at the splash zone and Florider. We also won bingo on our day at sea. The kids love bingo!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We watched one show, it was okay. A lot of the guests enjoyed it but perhaps it's not our thing.
Children's Programs
We didn't participate in any formal children's programs.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
We were very disappointed in the quality of service compared to a recent Carnival cruise we took in March. What we noted is the staff from the Philippines and Indonesia were absolutely awesome. They always smiled and made us feel very special. However, staff from India rarely smiled and were more reserved. Perhaps the differences are due to the cultures but this might be an area RC wishes to explore further.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship exceeded our expectations. We were really impressed with the design and fit. We felt like we were staying in a luxury vegas hotel. The promenade area was very cool.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
PRICELESS. For a family of 4 having the junior suite was a game changer for us. We had so much extra room to walk about the cabin, have in-room dining and relax on the balcony. This will be our default room from now on!
Coco Cay was the highlight of our trip. We are beach people and loved the opportunity to spend the entire port day at the beach on Coco Cay with so so much to do.
We did not do an excursion. We have been to Nassau before and therefore just walked around the shopping district in the morning and headed back to the ship for lunch. This was a great time however for us to engage in some on ship activities with a smaller than normal crowd.
