This was our first real family vacation. We have two young kids. We did this shorter cruise to gauge how they would do on vacations. It went great and we can’t wait to go on another.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth, except for a minor issue. The cell data reception wasn’t great in the terminal. We had planned on just bringing up our Covid test results on our phone. We had to stop the checkin process to find an area with reception so we could take snapshots of our results for proof of negative test.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The MDR was hit and miss. The 3rd night was our favorite in the MDR. We also did Izumi hibachi and that was really good. Other favorites were sorrentos for pizza and El Loco fresh. The windjammer was okay. Breakfast was tricky with so many people.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn’t participate in many activities. We pools were nice though
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were pretty good. There was a magician the second night that was pretty good. The ice skating show was also good. Once upon a time was just okay
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward wasn’t very good. Only cleaned a few times and we had to explicitly ask. On embarkation there was confusion between stewards over who had our room. Maybe that payed a factor. The other staff we encountered were good.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had a family of four. There was plenty of room and the kids both got their own bed which was nice. It gets kind of hot with 2 windows. We tried keeping them shut while we were out of the room. We packed a small usb powered fan which helped move a little air around the room
Ship tip
We really enjoyed talking a walk to the helipad after dinner each night.
We really liked how much was included. It was like a free beach day excursion. We liked that food was included and your seapass card works on the island.
