The embarkation process was extremely smooth. In spite of the recommended arrival time of 12:30, we arrived at around the 11:30 and was checked in, through security, boarded by 12:00

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Sabor Mexican Restaurant

5 out of 5

Sabor was an amazing experience... Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and his recommendations were spot on. My husband, who isn’t the biggest fan of Mexican Cuisine, thoroughly enjoyed himself and all the delightful offerings!!!

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

There has been talk buzzing around social media comparing Royal’s Johnny Rockets to Carnival’s Guy’s Burgers. I have had the opportunity to taste BOTH. In my humble opinion, Royal’s Johnny Rockets is MY burger of choice. First off, the customer service is AMAZING!!! Secondly it’s completely sit down and menu items of choice. Thirdly, the burger has just the right amount of crispness around the edges to make your mouth continuously water..Finally, the milk shake is will change you life!!!Royal’s Johnny Rockets Hands Down!!!

Main Dining Rooms (Galileo, Isaac & Leonardo)

5 out of 5

Although we enjoy the luxury of Specialty Dining, a cruise is not a cruise without the Main Dining Room experience. We enjoyed the food selections, as well as the attentiveness from the MDR staff. My husband had a minor request in regards to his salad, the waiter we had, had no qualms about the request and we received without any disturbance of flow to our dinner....

Chop's Grille

5 out of 5

The service at Chops was impressive to say the least. The waiter, again, was knowledgeable of the menu and made sure we were thoroughly satisfied. My husband had a small request of a side of tomatoes to go along with his salad and that was honored without hesitation. We both ordered steaks, different cuts, but were still very impressed with the fact they were cooked to the perfect temp the very FIRST time. Definitely would recommend Chops to any and all who’s looking for an amazing steakhouse experience!!!!

Boleros Lounge

5 out of 5

Stop through the Bolero Lounge for one drink in particular, The Coconut 🥥 Mojito!!! This drink is AMAZING!!! No particular bartender to name, just know I was never disappointed!!!

Windjammer Marketplace

5 out of 5

Due to us boarding very early, our visit to the Windjammer on embarkation day was AMAZING!!! The food was delectable and we were WAY ahead of the embarkation day crowd

Sorrentos Pizza

3 out of 5

Toppings were fresh and pizza 🍕 was hot. I gave only three stars because I do not like thin crust pizza!!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5

Day Spa and Fitness Center

5 out of 5

Hubby and I went to the spa and received their Fire & Ice pedicure. We both agreed this was the BEST pedicure EVER!!!!The ladies took their time and paid special attention to detail. The BIGGEST compliment I can give was they didn’t try to up sale any products we were clear on what we wanted and didn’t want to be harassed while receiving services!!!

Boutiques

5 out of 5

The shops on The Freedom are to be desired. There’s Michael Kors, Jewelry Shops, & RCLs Logo Shop just to name a few. Although, in my opinion, the pricing is not ALWAYS the best, but the option of duty free shopping is definitely available to cruisers!!!

Flowrider

5 out of 5

Although we didn’t participate in any of the Flow Rider activities we thoroughly enjoyed being spectators!!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Promenade

5 out of 5

Royal Caribbean definitely maximized the detail of Freedom’s Promenade Area. It gave us such a WoW feeling as we strolled through this Grand area.

Studio B

5 out of 5

We had the opportunity to enjoy RCLs adult themed game show “Crazy Quest” in Studio B. The venue was very adequately sized with room to spare. The DJ kept the crowd alive and the cocktail waiter/waitresses were readily available!!!!

Arcadia Theater

5 out of 5

The Marquee was an amazing tribute to Broadway’s shows from past & present. If you enjoy shows with amazing signing and stunning show performances. Definitely check this show out!!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had the most AMAZING room steward, Randy Cato, he was super attentive to our needs and his bubbly personality just made our experience that much more enjoyable!!! We had to contact Guest Services for a couple of minute details that were cleared up immediately over the phone. Ex. They brought my husband the wrong birthday cake flavor and had his card personalization very wrong... They immediately replaced his cake and gave us a bottle of champagne, and a $50 onboard credit to cover our inconvenience

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We have sailed the Freedom in the past and the ship design and layout has never ceased to amaze us. It is one of the easier ships for me to navigate around on, without having to heavily rely on my husband to get us from point A to point B. Would definitely recommend the Freedom for not only seasoned cruisers, but first time cruisers, as well!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were in a spacious Junior Suite with large balcony. Our room steward, Randy, made our vacation super special!!! He paid attention to detail and made sure we had what we needed to make our voyage a memorable one!!!

Ship tip

Utilize the cruise planner!!!! Book everything you can as early as possible, shore excursions, dining packages, internet packages, etc... Once you board you will have all of those important things taken care of and you can immediately start your vacation

Ports of call

Bridgetown, Barbados

Again, Photos are worth a THOUSAND words

Castries, St. Lucia

Beautiful Island!!! Did a ship sponsored catamaran tour. The Pitons are breathtaking!!! Definitely a must see!!!

St. John's, Antigua

2 out of 5
Walked off the ship and the aggressiveness was very obvious. Didn’t tour the island at all.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The Pan American Pier disembarkation process was held up this morning at least by 35 - 45 minutes. Our departure time was 0945 and we didn’t leave the ship until a little after 1015 and even then we stood on the walkway until we were able to enter into the terminal. Normally this wouldn’t be much of a concern, but because the flights out of San Juan are limited this could pose a problem if someone booked an earlier flight. Our flight was not until after 2:00, so of course, our timing was not compromised!!
