Review summary

First time cruising on smaller ship for many years but loved the ship, the service and whole atmosphere. Would highly recommend the Freedom and would definately cruise on it again however not while it is going from Puerto Rico.

Embarkation

Checking in was very quick however the line you had to join to go up to holding lounge was very disorganized so everyone was pushing each other.

Would rate "5" for MDR and 1 for Speciality Restaurants. Giovannis food was dreadful - medium steak was black - twice and service was worse - 75 minutes to serve appetizers and restaurant ws not busy!

Chop's Grille

Service was not good - servers gave the impression they didn't care - should have been in the Windjammer where they don't interact with guests as much. Food was average, mushroom soup delicious but entree was substandard quality for a steak restaurant and deserts were limited.

Always get good and enjoyable treatments in the Spa on every cruise however on this cruise the enjoyment was spoilt due to the assistant being very persistent on me buying products and signing up for more treatments. I was given a price by one assistant only to find afyerwards I had been overcharges and had not received membership discount. When brought this to the manager's attention she was not apologetic at all and initially tried to argue I was wrong. The idea of a Spa is to experience relaxing and enjoyable treatments not to be made to feel guilty because not purchasing products.

Hardly ever saw the room steward! Rest of crew were amazing, very friendly and went out of their way to please. Especially Lovely in Vintages and Francisco in RBar.

Still very surprised when put twin beds together there's only i flat sheet on top - had to request mattress pads to prevent beds separating. Cabin supervisor was very quick in providing 2 pads making bed very comfortable.

Ship tip

Do not go to Speciality Restaurants.

St. Maarten our favorite island. Did the island tour - heartbreaking to see so much devastation but they are so positive and will get back to normal. The people are very friendly.

Extremely disorganized - even the staff in the terminal had no clue what they were doing so instead of having people organized in lines they let all lines come into one so people who had been waiting 20 minutes or more were then left standing when they let people just leaving the ship walk to the front of the line.
