Review summary

Last trip on Freedom of the Seas! We Took our whole family since this is the third trip on this ship. very disapointed in service and help especially with 2 disabled mothers that we had no help with when we had asked for help with wheelchairs and help with them. The main dinner out of the 8 trips that we have been on was the worst we have had along with talking to several of the other members on the ship. The windjammer had better food. We had to have room service for food for our mothers and had to go get their food for them 3 days because they never brought their food and was charged for room service anyway. We as well ordered help with their luggage and day to leave it was still there and had to take extra time because they blamed delta for denying to pick up because Royal showed they had 300 pieces of luggage to pick up and they only had 3 along with we needed wheelchair service that was not there and available for them. Not a good relaxing vacation for any member of our family. Very Surprised at Freedom since this was our 3rd trip on her and all was top notch on both other trips.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Been on this ship 3 times and was the most disappointed that i have been on this ship. The food had one night that i can say the main course was exceptional. The service was sub par and drinks we had to wait on everynight. Windjammer was better food. the last 2 trips with this ship has been the best of all 8 trips we have been on.

when set up our luggage to be taken to Delta from the ship because we brought our mothers that had disabilities all was fine until we disembarked and their luggage was not taken after we filled out the paperwork days before to be taken care of and they said that Delta denied which we found out the reason why. Delta had paperwork of 300 pieces of luggage to be taken off instead of 3 pieces. Family had to wait at airport for all the paperwork to get back to where Royal had it canceled by Delta and Delta did not charge us for any of our luggage and said that they would get ahold of Royal for the cancelation.

Ship tip

My Family will be looking for some other ship besides the Freedom of the Seas unless they change. We have used this ship for the comfort but it was not a relaxing week for every move and help with wheel chairs not availiable to needing room service for food for our mothers to be brought to their rooms everyday and 3 days we had to go get their food and bring to them.

Duvall and Cruzn2gether: I hope you were able to express your complaints while on the ship and also in the post Cruise surveys from RCCL. I believe the Freedom of the Seas staff normally stress good service and if some part of the service system let down the guests, then RCCL shipboard and corporate management need to know so they can address the issues. I hope you have a better experience the next time you Cruise, we can say that for every less-than-ideal Cruise we've had we've had many more excellent cruises top to bottom.

I couldn't agree more with you about the MDR. We ate there 3 nights during our 8 night (a first for us skipping ANY night in the MDR). Service was just awful and like you stated, drinks took forever to receive and I don't even believe it was the correct wine. Our dinner services were over 2 hours every time!! Desserts showed up melted, entrees mixed up or handed out as "family style" even though it was our table mates entree. Windjammer was amazing at dinner time! Great selection and service was top notch!!!!

Very surprised to hear this. We were on the Freedom of the Seas during Thanksgiving week... family of 15 with 3 senior citizens with mobility issues. We had a little bit of a wait on 3 wheelchairs while embarking, but overall on the ship we experienced no issues whatsoever, and none with getting them all to dining either. Disembarking was smooth as silk... Our 3 seniors were wheeled all the way to our shuttle, and we had porters get all the luggage to the shuttle... it was easy peasy.
