Review summary

This was our first cruise. It was awesome. Freedom of the Seas was a great ship. Lots to do. Friendly staff. Nothing negative except even for a 7 day cruise it was too short. LOL had so much fun we didn't want to get off.

Our wait staff for the dining room were Rimme, Ping and I think his name is Eruca( spelling may be off but he was from Turkey). We have food allergies and they were so helpful. We had our cards for the dinner the next night so we could choose from the menu. Awesome staff

This is a handicap room and it was HUGE. Marvin our room steward was Awesome. We had our nightly "towel creature" on our bed and our room was always clean.

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself and let the staff take care of you. If you are an asthmatic avoid the smoking side of the ship and the casino. Wish it was all non smoking.

Watch for pushy salesman. It was too commercialized for our liking. Go on your own. The glassbottom boat island tour was not worth it.

Go on the Chocholate and Island roots tour ( tequila) it was awesome. Our tour guide Barb and our driver Julio were wonderful and were very accomodating to people with mobility issues. We weren't rushed.

A little rough getting around the island but if you have a chance to go to Maya Chan beach resort, one word, GO! It is an oasis with full service beach. They provide everything from food and drinks to lounges and hammocks. Beautiful beach
