Review summary

This cruise was a birthday gift. The ship personal was never aware of the celebration. Our room was run down. The balcony was always wet from dripping from the ceiling, the mattresses and pillows were horrible, left us with a back pain. The food in the formal dining room was horrible and very distasteful. We ate most of our meal at the buffet, which was a little better because there was more selection. We never got any discounts or onboard spending money on booking the cruise, and from ice cream to coffee you have to buy. It was an expensive cruise, and definitely not worth it.

My family and I have been on Royal Caribbean quite a few times, and we've been on the Freedom once, and are going on it this spring. Whenever we go the rooms are always very clean, and the beds never gave anyone back pain. The balcony sometimes does get wet, but they've gotta clean the side of the ship somehow??! Also, if you want people to know it's your birthday try telling them ahead of time.

It's too bad the ship personnel weren't psychic, you need to let them know ahead of time. My experience on Freedom was the exact opposite of yours, as is most people's I would guess. The food is delicious, the room was fine, and you need to research for discounts and OBC. A cruise is what you make it, hopefully if you have a next time your attitude will be better.
