Review summary
We were disappoint with our cruise. This was our first cruise on Royal Caribbean and our experience is that Holland American and Celebrity do a much better job. The quality of the food was fair including the variety and the dining room staff needed much more help. TV viewing on the ship was very limited in English. This is the first time we cruised in over 20 cruises where a chocolate was not placed in our pillow at night. Our cabin attendant was very stingy with the bars of soap We only received one bar of soap for the sink and one for the shower. Good thing I brought my own soap. There wasn't even liquid body soap in the shower.

Ship tip
For example: Pizza was free at the Pizza place on the promenade. The drinks aren't free, but if you have one of the drink packages it pays off. Tips are included in the purchase of the package. They had a cupcake shop and I bought one of the cupcakes for a little over 2 dollars. It was delicious!

HAL and Celebrity are premium lines, RCI is a regular cruise line. I can tell the difference between them. When I did 2 European cruises we had on demand movies in the cabin that were in English, regular TV was only a couple English channels that were mostly News.
Most lines have stopped the chocolate on the pillow at night. Funny that little thing that is only a few cents a day has been cut. When you look at big picture thought, one chocolate per guest per day on each ship is actually a lot of money.
Cruising on the basic lines is not what it used to be but it is better then it is becoming.

Thank you for leaving your review. I've not been on Freedom and probably won't because I prefer the smaller class ships. When I needed something in my stateroom, I asked the assigned attendant rather than wait on the chance it is going to be delivered. When I got no result after asking once, I called Guest Services and specifically say "I asked my stateroom attendant for X yesterday but still don't have it, could someone else bring it?" That lit a fire because the request went through the supervisor. I've only had to do that once in over 15 years of cruising. After that, no problems.
