The best way to describe our experience on the Freedom of the Seas is using the golfing term "at par". Everything from the stateroom to the shopping to dining was what you would expect from a Royal Caribbean cruise, nothing exceptional here.  In fact if your heart is not set on their Flowrider surfing activity, I would say save your money and go on the Voyager of the Sea or the Explorer of the Sea.  What I did notice was a measurable decrease in the level of enthusiasm and friendliness in the crew. Could be due to the automatic gratuity charges.....?

Ship Quality
Typical Royal Caribbean fair
Food and Dining
nothing new if you don't want to go to there upcharge dining venues
Service and Staff
not as friendly or harding working as in the past
Entertainment a nice varity for all tastes
Children's Programs did not use
Onboard Activities
decent experience for the money
Destinations and Excursions
beautiful islands
Cabin / Stateroom
Decor needs an upgrade and so do the mattresses.
Port Canaveral, Florida
beautiful and has a variety of tours for all tastes
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
had enough loungers and activities
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Use the forward elevators when leaving for excursions and disembarking.
