There's nothing not to like about Explorer. We prefer the smaller ships such as Rhapsody, but we've been in Explorer twice now and have grown to enjoy this size of ship too

This was our 8th cruise; 5th with RCCL, so we’re still learning the ropes. On this trip I discovered if you email rcldining@rccl.com with your dining requests 14 days prior to your cruise, they will honor them. For example, we were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, had 8pm dining, and wanted a table for two. RCCL quickly responded to my email and honored our request with our table number, deck and ship side prior to sailing! Every other time we’ve sailed and requested a table for two at booking, it wasn’t honored. We were seated with others for our honeymoon and anniversaries, so had to ask to be moved once on board.

Remember to fill out your cruise docs ahead of time.  Also, book your island excursions online well ahead of time. We waited until two weeks ahead of our cruise and found that many of our first choices were already fully booked.   You will have a much better experience on the ship if you plan and prebook.

Be prepared for lacking entertainment, but don't miss the Ice show which was very the best show on the boat. This is a perfect sized boat compared to the oasis class ships...not crowded feeling at all, easy on and off the ship. The only things it lacks are waterslides (which are scheduled to get added in March 2023) and better entertainment. Don't miss utilizing the FlowRider if you are up for it. It's amazing and we were able to ride it almost daily.

Using the app is okay but make sure you ask your room steward for the daily compass. Nice having it at your fingertips. The app is sometimes difficult to maneuver
