Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We felt the main dining room food quality had gone down since our last cruise pre-covid. Lobster night was of course great but the rest just average. Chops was 10/10. Windjammer is fine it's what we expected quick and easy no complaints. Drinks well we bought the coke package as we aren't big alcohol drinkers and never once did anyone ask to see our card. Asked for a bottle of water they asked to see our cruise card and we were denied! Isn't coke more expensive than water? Don't waste your money on the coke package just to get a special cup no one cares about coke products.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We mainly stayed by the pool since we had 4 sea days, this was fine, met expectations. One day they had the pool volleyball which was dumb to take 30+ people and kick them out so so 10 people could play an uninspiring volleyball match. That kept the pool closed for several hours as they had to drain it to play. That forced all those people into the other pool which made it very crowded, not smart. Skip the volleyball on cruises where the average cruise age is 60.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
This was a huge let down. We were used to a couple shows every night not on this cruise. The comic was the first night and I believe the last night only. No production type shows just really poor entertainment on this cruise. DJ what can you say it's a DJ. The Perfect Couple show the staff was not prepared for, didn't have enough signs for all participants seemed like they tried to throw it together last minute. These are usually really entertaining and worth the wait not this time. Movies under the stars-No popcorn, cookies or blankets. All movies closed captioned which we get but still distracting, had not seen CC on previous cruises. Poor seating choices on Explorer of the Seas because of hot tub awnings and screen location. Movies in the room were also terrible.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service and staff are always top notch on all cruise lines we've been on.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was clean but in need of some minor standard maintenance type stuff. A couple loose railing around pool area and just general need of some TLC.
Cabin / Stateroom

Wow so this really blew us away. We let RC choose our balcony room it was on the 12th floor near the front. At first was worried about ship movement but weather was perfect so no problems there. This location right outside the spa and 1 floor above the pool was AWESOME! Could easily go back to our room to use the bathroom or get a book we forgot. Just a few steps to the 12 floor bar overlooking the pool we were extremely pleased with this room and location. Most likely had not picked it on our own but really opened our eyes to room locations for our next cruise if we can choose. Don't be afraid of these rooms on the 12th floor they're great. Just don't take 1836 I think it was right by the door that would be very nosy I think.
Ship tip
Don't buy the coke drink package, buy a case of water for your room much better deal.
Awesome port but don't rent a golf cart rent a truck. Golf carts are to slow and you can't do everything you want. Skip excursions and just drive where you want to snorkel or dive.
This was our best day as we hired a personal guide who took us diving and around the Island. $400.00 for the entire day it's the thing to do vs. expensive excursions and bus rides. We found our guy Mark Weber through Facebook posts, he was great. We snorkeled with the turtles before all the cruisers arrived then he took us diving, than to a nice place to eat on the beach and downtown for a beer and the floating bridge. The perfect day!
We wanted a casual day so we scheduled a couples massage at Blue Waters Spa first thing in the morning, after we walked across the street to Eagle beach for a couple hours there and lunch at Ricardos, taxi ride back downtown shopped. Nice relaxing day.
