Review summary

First time cruisers and we loved it. We are planning on another cruise, but maybe with another class of Royal Caribbean ships.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got to the check-in early and still got through without a glitch.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Loved the dining room food for breakfast and dinner, however the buffet was just okay and seemed to repeat a lot of food choices. There needed to be another place to eat that was open after we returned from excursions because the one place was always so busy since nothing else was open.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center, pool, whirlpool, flowrider, sports court, ice skating rink. Kids loved being able to play a variety of sports in the court. Fitness center was small and crowded, but still did the job--whirlpool in there could have been warmer. Pools were good, but the whirlpools needed some adult supervision since kids under 12 thought it was a pool.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved the comedian, the ice show, and shows at the bars.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Aged 12-17 needed more activities to keep them busy since there seemed to be a lot of these teens causing havoc after 8 pm around the ship from pushing all the buttons in the elevator to putting hand sanitizer all over the railings.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the personnel with the exception of the flow rider staff was great and very helpful. Our head waiter Erhan gave great suggestions for what to do at each of the ports we didn't have excursions planned.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was nice--easy to get around once I figured out directions. Always saw staff cleaning railings and common areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin cleanliness was great, size is small for 4 people especially when you have two teenagers, but everyone had a bed. Was cozy though, but next time we might get two cabins just to be more comfortable since we seemed to keep losing things in the cabin because it was tight.

Ship tip

Make sure to bring an extension cord (ship approved) to charge all devices and magnetic hooks.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Didn't have time.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Loved the all inclusive area with swimming--wish we knew this was here. We did the Monkeyland-Puerto Plata Excursion and loved the monkeys. Wished we could have gotten out by the water/fort to walk around.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Loved the port, but taxis are expensive and didn't know you had to pay to get into Magens Bay beach. We did not do an excursion.

St. John's, Antigua

2 out of 5
The port was okay. Scheduled for an excursion to the beach. Zones were not well marked and we almost missed our excursion since nobody knew where we were supposed to meet. The beach was nice, but saw photos from other's on the ship of nicer beaches. The facilities were disgusting if you had to use the bathroom, but the food served on the excursion was good.

St. George's, Grenada

5 out of 5
Loved this port a lot. Taxis were responsible. Didn't do an excursion. So beautiful and the people were wonderful here.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Loved this port, so much to do. No excursion, but disappointed the one beach we wanted to go to was closed because there were 5 other ships there that day and the country closed the beach because they were overwhelmed with tourists.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Very confusing and staff got a lot bit snippy with us because we were standing in the wrong place. Not very smooth.
