First time on a RC ship since the startup. Ship seemed to be at full capacity. The only crowded location would be in the Windjammer during peak times during breakfast and lunch. The entire staff was very friendly. Ship was fully staffed, which was a plus. Never had to wait for anything.
Embarkation

We had a 12:30- 1:00 embarkation time slot. Arrived at 2 pm. Our first time at the Miami cruise port. Was supposed to arrive at Pier A, but it was closed. Didn’t see any signs directing us where to go. Stopped a dock worker. He told us where to go. Once we arrived at the correct pier , everything went smooth. Parked at the parking deck across the street. 22 dollars a day.

Overall the food was what I expected for a RC ship. Ate 3 times in the MDR for dinner. Meals were good, portions were smaller than I expected. Windjammer could get full during peak meal times.

There were numerous trivia games played throughout the day in the Schooner bar. Won a couple of times.
Entertainment

The Comedian was the worst I’ve ever seen on any major cruise line. He needs new material. Ice rink was closed for repairs.

RC must of changed their policy. Staff on other RC ships were a little stand reserved. Not on the Explorer. Everyone greeted you each and every day. Ann the washy- washy young lady at the Windjammer was a pure delight each morning. Service in the MDR for dinner was excellent. We had my time dinning, never had to wait for a table. Meals came out promptly. In and out of the MDR within an hour.
Ship Quality

Ship cleanliness was excellent. Didn’t like the location of the library. This should be in a quiet area of the ship. Instead it was in an open area on deck 7. Right above the library was the computers, also in an open area. Kids were running back and forth on these 2 decks. Very unpleasant if your had to do some work or if you want to enjoy some reading material. Hopefully during its next dry dock RC will change the locations.
Cabin / Stateroom

Aft extended balcony. Room was very clean and slept completely in the bed.
Ship tip
Windjammer can get filled up quickly, especially during breakfast and lunch. Best to go during non peak times.
