We would sail this ship again, just not in August. Very Hot!

Boarding went so smoothly. That was appreciated as the outside temps were quite high.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food is not as good as previous years, but it was acceptable. We didn’t go to any Specialty Dining Rooms this trip, but the service in the main dining room was very good. Yes, a little slow, but not the fault of our servers. Windjammer could be very full at times. Full ship. First time we ever saw the line go out the door, to the outside, heading for the pool deck.

Onboard Activities

Felt this cruise the activities were lacking. RC is almost wanting guests to be the performers. Karaoke, dancing. Pools were full as expected.

Entertainment

The comedian is on a 7 month tour and he just seemed to be riding out his contract. The Ice Show, always a favorite, was canceled. The female singer on stage, Javisha, was absolutely amazing.

Service and Staff

Being short staffed is hard for the crew and it is unfortunate because they really do a wonderful job. Our room steward was fantastic. Our dining room servers were friendly, and kept us informed of delays. Didn’t need Guest Services at all.

Ship Quality

This ship is in good shape for her years. We would sail The Explorer again. Easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

The Cabin was good size for 2 people. It was well kept. Good amount of space in the closet. Bed was very comfortable. Oceanview Cabin with good sized window.
