Review summary

The itinerary is what we went for. The ship was my least favorite ship (we’ve been on 7 and that includes the empress of the seas). We had issues daily from the get go (from sewage smell in our bathroom, excursion issues, food quality control,etc). The kids club were decent but I can’t recommend this ship for anything else. Maybe if it had a full staff things may have been better but that isn’t what we had.

Service was very slow, food wasn’t that good. We actually left the buffet hungry the very first day.

My kids all loved the clubs. My youngest did get Injured on the last night and I felt the way it was handled wasn’t done well.

They were severely understaffed. The staff that were working tried their best and were pleasant.

Room not well designed. Smallest bathroom. The ladder didn’t even fit properly to second Pullman. Beds were very uncomfortable

I've been on Explorer of the Seas and had a great time for my 21 day cruise from Seattle to Sydney. I suppose it's always a person perception of good versus bad service. I had no issues except in MDR, the server there paced all his tables, and not per table, so dining could take up to 3 hours.
