Review summary

The 35' waves in the North Atlantic Ocean caused a 3 day delay of the Explorer getting into Southampton, which shortened our cruise from 14 to 11 days. We also lost all of our ports and went to only one different island instead. Royal Caribbean was not legally obligated to do anything for us, but they went out of their way to provide a lot of extra benefits to guests to help make up for this. They kept their guests safe and were super awesome to us all in our opinion. Overall, we made the best of it and staff was terrific, food was exceptional and we had an absolute blast! Thank you to Royal Caribbean for being so very awesome under some very difficult circumstances which could not be controlled by anyone, except the "Weather God"!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Went to the Chef's Table and had an awesome dinner! Pools were closed for a few days due to rough seas. Onboard staff tried to make it fun for us though!

Entertainment

I did not attend any of the shows or entertainment, as we had other things to do.

Children's Programs

No kids and only a few onboard.

Cabin / Stateroom

LARGEST and best cabin ever!!! Our attendant Yasa was exceptional. The room was spotless from start to finish. The room and balcony were HUGE and has an awesome layout. Lots of storage and plenty of room. The balcony is long and private. SUPER PERFECT ROOM!!!

Ship tip

Loved the Champagne Bar on deck 5 and the Bartender Atilla!

Sooo much to do in this port! The history is fantastic and the train will take you to Bath, or lots of other fun day excursions!!! The mall is also pretty good and there are awesome restaurants!!! Friendly people and we had a fabulous 6 days pre-cruise!!!

Disembarkation

We could not get off the ship until 12:30 PM. We waited in the Viking Lounge, and RCCL provided food and beverages to us. To be fair, I heard there was some type of serious and legitimate reason for the long delay we experienced.
