We travelled as a large group (4 generations). I feel like there was something for everyone and it was great way to take a family vacation.

We were a large group and were accommodated nicely in the MDR. Windjammer buffet got old for me and the struggle to find seats was a bit crazy. My brothers family loved the windjammer though.... food was good everywhere.

Our 5 year old LOVED Aquanauts. Our 2 year old wasn’t old enough to participate but we knew that before we went so I really can’t complain. Explorer does not have a nursery for little ones like many other ships do. Again we knew that before but it would be nice if it was available. My older nieces and nephew didn’t use the teen club so much but I think the likes it when they did.

I think it’s so funny when I read about explorer being “tired” or dirty.... It was fantastic. Staff are working hard to keep it clean throughout the trip and we found to be a great size. We would travel on explorer again in a heartbeat.

We did whale watching and visited Mendenhall glacier. If booking this be aware that you don’t get much time at the glacier.

White Pass railway was beautiful. We also met 11 day old sled dog puppies and panned for gold. The kids loved the gold panning and puppies. The railway was more for the adults.
