Review summary

Sometimes very good. However, everything had an extra cost. A brief overview was nothing but a hard sell for excursions. Practice emergency drill was so disorganized! We had no idea where and when to report. Only by sheer accident did we see a security guy who looked at our SeaPass card and that told us where to report. Disappointing and disorganized.

Embarkation

Quick, well-oiled.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room, your time dining, breakfast was excellent, lunch dismal, unless one served self from the salad bar, dinner was excellent. Gyoza with mushroom, best meal! Tried Giovanni's last night; too, too, TOO much food, wasted. Loved our waitress, knowledgeable, personable. Tiramisu was amazing and all of the desserts were outstanding. We also tried the Mystery Dinner Theatre, originally scheduled to be held in Giovanni's, but instead went to the Grill, served the lobster meal along with ship. We had 5 and 7 year olds with us, thinking spaghetti would be served. Despite the venue and menu changes, the staff worked to accommodate the kids needs! Everyone truly enjoyed the actor's over-the-top personalities!! Worth the expense! The Windjammer did an amazing job with the food, children had many choices, cookies won hands-down approval! Only negative? Spills on the floors were never completely cleaned. Dangerous for people in general, specifically for the disabled. They had the disabled seating in a corral close to the entry. No window seats included. I saw very few staff helping to carry food, until the day before we landed back in Seattle. Suddenly, had offers along with questions about the levels of our satisfaction. Disappointing.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Our family 6 adults and 2 children. I swear every single activity was tried at least once. Too cold to try more than once. Staff had wetsuits, in comparison to the guests. Hot tubs used by all several times!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows very entertaining, including the ice show, always appreciate access to top row seating when in w/chair.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
5 year-old loved every minute--arts and crafts to bring back to the family, made it especially nice. 7 year-old not impressed, by mid-trip he would go, but thought it was nothing very exciting, but went anyway.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward was friendly, helped us with firmer pillows and extra blankets, offered assistance and recommendations. One waiter pushed a cart of drinks around the Windjammer -- not a high priority? Other waiters used to remove dirty dishes. If you needed help you would be out-of-luck.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
A cabin is a cabin. Tired looking. Mold accumulating along sliding glass door (inside) bottom, next to carpet. Temperature was cool for several days. Our steward contacted maintenance and the entire thermostat was replaced!

Ship tip

If you pay upfront for a beverage pkg don't expect RC to put the cards in your cabin--don't expect RC to even tell you where to go to find them! Nope. Disappointing and disorganized. Go to the cafe and ask!! They have a veritable book with names and corresponding orders. I got a blank look, when I asked how I would know to ask at the cafe for my cards.

FAKE NEWS😄 As mentioned by others, there are crew and signs everywhere to inform and direct you, and your lack of attention is exactly what delays the muster drill and makes it appear disorganized.

We did this cruise. They made several announcements and there was someone on every floor at the bottom of the stairs to guide you.

Your muster station is posted on your cabin door also. Several announcements are made, and if you don't hear them, they will find you!

If you want to know when to report to the drill just listen to the load speaker for time and place. It days for where to report look on your room card and if you don't know where the stated location is look on the maps which are all over, or just ask one of the numerous staff stationed around to help people if they didn't hear or read what to do.
