We have done over 25 cruises on various cruise lines, and this one has to be in our top 5 favorite cruises. Celebrating New Years Eve on a cruise was a unique experience. Our stateroom was perfectly positioned close to the elevators mid-ship on deck 8 which made getting to and from anywhere on the ship extremely easy.This was the favorite part of the cruise. Also, the friendliness of the staff on the Eurodam was far above almost every other cruise. There were a few hiccups here and there with the "Romantic Package" I had purchased. But each of this issues was resolved to my satisfaction. Dinner in the Pinnacle Restaurant exceeded my expectations.The food was superb in both the dining room and in the lido market. The entertainment in the Mainstage left a lot to be desired, but we were able to find plenty of other activities to do instead. We arrived in Ft Lauderdale on Jan 7th (the day after the shooting in the Ft Lauderdale airport). Although not HAL or Delta Airlines fault, there could have been more communication from both as to what was going to happen to our baggage. We had booked the luggage direct, and were told that overweight bags would not be an issue. Once this horrible thing happened in the airport, our flight was cancelled and we were re booked on another flight out of PBI. After a $150 taxi fare to West Palm, we discovered that some of our overwieght baggage contents needed to be reshuffled into our carry ons. I asked the ticket agent about the luggage direct program as far as overweight bags, he said that they would not allow anything over 52# per bag.
