Review summary
WOW! What an amazing cruise. Although we have been on a number of cruises this was our first on Holland. Embarkation was effortless. From the time we entered the cruise port terminal until we were sitting in our room was about 20 minutes. The embarkation staff was friendly and efficient. Our bags were waiting in our room when we arrived. The room was amazing. We had an ocean view. It was spacious (as ship rooms go). It had an extremely comfortable bed, a nice couch, both with an excellent view of the ocean. There was plenty of storage (at least for the two of us). The staff on board was very friendly and made a point of acknowledging us whenever we saw them. We were on the first floor in the center of the ship near the atrium, equivalent to floor five on Princess. It was convenient to almost every event we were interested in as well as the dining room. With the exception of two nights, we really enjoyed the entertainment. One of the nights in the main stage area was just a movie. The other night was a dancing couple. When they danced, they were great, but in between each dance there just a lot of dead time. Other than those two nights, the entertainment was great. The food in the dining room was very good an the staff was attentative. The Lido buffet had good food, including an ice cream bar but had very strange hours for us; missed breakfast almost every morning. The ports were beautiful. We would definitely do this cruise again
