Terrific Thanksgiving Get-a-Way by rmsjmilles

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were blessed with perfect weather, comfortable stateroom & amenities, friendly, attentive and courteous staff throughout the ship, and delicious and well-presented meals.  We were particularly appreciative of the efforts, service and care provided to us by Tomas, our statetoom attendant (#4548) and by Ana and Samantha, our dining room attendants.  The cruise and ports of call were a perfect way to enjoy a carefree Thanksgiving.  Many thanks to all!

Rosemarie and Stephen Milles

Enchanting Getaway by cmkippes

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a fantastic time with my family. The ship was very nice.  The nightly entertainment in the main showroom was a bit disappointing. The comedian the first night was not that funny.  Perhaps the adult only show was better then the one I attended with my family.  Best part of the show that evening was the singers performing Come Sail Away by Styx.

The nightly entertainment in the other lounges was pretty good.

It is really a great journey. I travelled with my parents and we had a wonderful time in Cocobay Everything there was great, the sunshine, sea and food :) while our experience at Naussa is not that great.

Overall experience by bgomezsfl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall customer service experience was terrible. We would ask for assistance from several crew members many times felt as we were bothering them. We got food poison and unfortunately wasn't able to eat on the day last on board. Internet was spotty and lack of speed.

Enchantment of the Seas to the Bahamas by 2wings

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This ship is a disaster.  A once elegant vessel has herded too many people on shortie cruises and it's definitely taken a toll.  The ship is dated, dirty and the cabins are hardly fit to entertain guests.  The staff can hardly keep up with cleaning it and there was construction all over the pool deck on the ceilings.

This was a waste of money.

Great little getaway by leahorourke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a short cruise but perfect of a long weekend getaway. The shining part of the cruise was the staff especially in the dining room. If you can request Mario and Rosette. Mario always honestly suggests items and is smiling ear to ear. Rosette makes you feel like part of her family. We had a junior suite which was roomy and included a private balcony. I suggest to pay the extra for a balcony. The shower head is poor but there is plenty of hot water to get clean. When you go to Coco Cay rent snorkel equipment and you can walk right off the beach to see lots of fish. We went to Balmoral Island in the Bahamas for the dolphin swim. It was pretty amazing. They charge huge prices for the pics and video. The only package you can get is $75 for the pics or $130 for pics and a video. The picture package includes about 90 pictures but only about 10 or 12 are of you and your party. The others are of the island, the Dolphins and the sting rays. They include these in everyone's cd. You can get a cd with all your parties pics and don't have to purchase separate ones for each in your party so that's good if you have a big party. The video is not edited. It has everyone's encounter on it. The last day we scheduled the Everglades trip but Royal cartel bean cancelled it. When we left the RC building after customs and baggage claim, we saw a red sightseeing building near the transportation area. We were able to get the Everglades trip through them. It was about $15 cheaper each ticket so it worked out great. The Everglades trip was awesome!

Nice Weekend Getaway.....But by jason249

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, so we booked this weekend for just the two of us.  We had been on the Enchantment four times prior to this recent sailing, however it was man years ago.  For this sailing, I upgraded to an Owners Suite (cabin 8020) and I must say it was very much worth the extra money.  The room was very large, with a huge "L" shaped couch seating area (living room), a full service bar with refrigerator and coffee maker.  There was a glass 36" round table that we had breakfast at each morning.  The bed was a very comfortable king size.  There were two large double door closets, a dresser and more drawers than we needed.  The bathroom (the most important part of the cabin for me) was very spacious; with a two sink vanity with marble top, bidet, toilet, whirlpool tub and shower with a glass door.  While very functional, the bathroom was a bit dated; but nonetheless immaculate.  The balcony was huge and we enjoyed that area very much.  There were two very comfortable (whicker) lounge chairs, a small table and two sitting chairs. The A/C was working very well and the cabin was a perfect temperature each day. The cabin steward was FANTASTIC!

One cabin negative -   since the cabin is directly below the Windjammer, you could hear dragging noises all night long, as well as people running.  It did not bother me too much; but someone who is a light sleeper may have an issue with this.

Overall food and ship  - As I said before; I have been on this ship and many other RCCL ships before.  The main reason I stopped cruising on RCCL was the food.  I'd rate the food a 4 out of 10.  The main dining room staff was the most disorganized bunch I've seen on any cruise.  First, I barely understood my waiter, although very nice, when he talked my wife and I just nodded and smiled as we did not comprehend a single word.  We had to ask for bread twice, before receiving it and the bread was not fresh either.  The food was school cafeteria quality.  They also brought me the wrong entrée. We did not even bother staying for dessert; just wanted to get out of there.  We made a reservation in Chops Grill for Sat. night.  We've eaten there before on other cruises and we found it was very good.  Unfortunately, not this trip. My steak (a 12 oz. NY Strip) was literally like a piece of salted rubber.  I asked my wife to try it; just to see if I was off base; she agreed that it was very bad and insisted that I get the filet instead.  They happily obliged; that steak was not as rubbery, but salty as well.  Something else I observed as well; the restaurant was empty.  Normally, in  past sailings, every table was filled.  Finally, the last night, we made a reservation for the Chefs Table.  This was very nice, very good ($55 each) and frankly, what I would have expected (less the wine pairings) in the main dining room.  The food was exceptional, but again, we are being charged $110 in addition to our cruise fare; which frankly, I could have done at home.  The Windjammer food was very good, and provided a lot of choices.  The ship was so clean; I kept remarking to my wife that whoever is in charge of that department deserves an award.  The entertainment onboard was non-existent.  Clearly, RCCL is not spending nearly enough in this department.  I found the nightlife boring.  Nassau is Nassau and Coco Cay was a very nice (as always) day.

The overall impression from this experienced cruiser; if you are looking for a quick getaway and the food and nightlife is not important to you, The Enchantment is a good choice.  It was a relaxing trip and we did enjoy ourselves, but once again; I would never go on a RCCL ship for longer than a weekend.  I'm a Celebrity person from here on out!

Once final note, or perhaps observation that I'd like to comment on (incase RCCL reads these reviews) is that for some reason several people who worked onboard seemed very anxious to tell my wife and I how difficult it is to "satisfy everyone".  At times they seemed hell bent on making sure we knew that any complaints to the corporate office were very bad for them.  This is something I have NEVER experienced before on any cruise. The staff (with the exception of my cabin steward) seemed unhappy and I noticed hardly ever smiled.

We had a great time. Booking thru was easy, suggestions on renting a car instead of transfers was easy and a money saver, the cruise itself was wonderful.

This is our first time we went to cruise and everything went well. The service was great as well as the food. There nothing much I can say as we were looking to get in the ship again in the future. We do recommend this to our friends and relatives.

I like the smaller ship but needs some upgrades it's showing it's age. We were disappointed we did not stop in coco cay they said it was to rough of waters but it seemed calm to us so not sure what that was about.  Best part of the cruise is the employees they are fantastic!!!! So helpful with everything. Roy in housekeeping was fantastic!!  Our waiters Kunar, Marina and Dexter and Paul the best ever!!!!

not good by mlopez79

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It is the second time I get Royal Caribbean cruise and no stop in the private island.

The entertainment at the ship is poor. There is no variety at the shopping stores.

Late show for adults on Sunday night was awful.

The cabin was stinky. Too much mold.

The only think good in the ship was the last night parade, the service and dinners.

4 Night Bahamas Enchantment of the Seas by NewtoCruise2016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This cruise was a very nice experience.  Long enough to be relaxing and enjoyable; short enough as to not be tedious.  Good port selection.  Staff and crew were Great!

Disappointing as we could not go to CocoCay due to the weather.  Royal Caribbean should have arrange for another port, or reimbursed some of the trip.  There were only 3 port and when you miss one, its pretty significant.

Royal Caribbean could improve communications to passengers while on-board by displaying announcements on you cabin TV and on the touch screen monitors throughout the ship.  You can not always hear or understand the announcements over the intercom system

Excellent service by all staff. We loved our junior suites. Only negative about it- we did not had a chance to stop at cococay because of the weather. Wish we got some kinda credit for missing a port.

My favorite part of the cruise was being able to visit different locations and the many cruise activities available all throughout the day. I would recommend this cruise to friends and family who are seeking a relaxing and enjoyable experience with lots of food and entertainment.

Over-hyped by ndfan11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Overall the cruise was okay.  This was my first cruise.  My problem was all the hype everyone was giving regarding the abundance of food.  i was led tobelieve their would be endless fiood from the momnent i stepped aboard tge ship.  When I boarded, the only thing that was open was a small 'cafe' that had cold sandwiches and a pamini press that wasn'the working.  I woold not recommend a cold rueban.  Twice,I missed the dining room for breakfadt.  one of the times there was nothing else open.  Lunch on Coco Cay left much to be desired.  Most of the entertainment was fair at best.  The adult comedy show was the best thing.  Unless you want a balcony, I would not waste your money on a room with a window.  The inner cabins/staterooms are just the same.  Get the drink package because they nickel and dime you.  At the end, it is worth it and you avoid signing a receipt for every order.

Jenkins Cruise by majenkins1101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We like the food and the beach. Would have like to get to primary destination when it's good weather and not raining. Feel like crew knew weather was going to be bad and should have rerouted somewhere else with better weather. The weather also stopped some on board activities as well. Other then that, I thought cruise was nice. I would recommend to a friend.
