Review summary

We had fun, and really enjoyed the islands especially. St Kitts and Antigua and St Martin were easily our favorites. Warm sun in January!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and easy, even though our time to begin the process was later than we usually do.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
First time going to a speciality restaurant (Chops Grille). It was very nice, and the steak was outstanding. The main dining room was great too. The food was hot, and our 2 waiters, Ricardo and Vedasto were exceptional! Both were cheerful and attentive, and bent over backwards to be accommodating. Their happy demeanor really boosted our vacation fun level. We prefer the main dining room, but the buffet was always good too. The ship was at full capacity, so it was a bit difficult to find a seat there. No problems though.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the talks about Don Knotts, and his great nephew Bill did a great job. We enjoyed watching the folks at the pool area, but didn't get in.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw a pianist, a juggler type person, and a comedian. They were fine...The musicians at the Orpheus were outstanding.

Children's Programs

We had no children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Renato, the room steward was friendly and hardworking. The cabin didn't seem as spotless as usual, but we never expect perfection. The dresser drawers and side table drawers needed a good cleaning, and there were some stains on the towels and sheets. Juli and Arturo, were our waiters at lunch one day, and they were especially kind and attentive. We mentioned our evening waiters earlier (Ricardo and Vedasto) who were absolutely top notch!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For an older ship, the common areas were very clean. The ship's layout was fine, but the design was a little boring. Again, no problem.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had forgotten we had gotten a cabin with a window, so that was a nice surprise! We are used to the size, so it was fine. Having a sofa was nice, but it was dirty.

Ship tip

Plan to have a nice time, and you probably will! Some of the guests sure seemed to complain a lot about things that didn't seem like an issue to us. You're on vacation!
