Review summary

Overall we had a great time on our first cruise. Ship has its issues but they weren’t bad at all. Would sail again.

Embarkation

Use the key to get priory boarding. Unfortunately the signage was poor so we sat in a long line for a while before we realized we could skip it. Otherwise the process was great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was OK - not fantastic. We preferred the main dining room over the windjammer for most meals. We did get a pizza from Park Cafe on our first sea day to enjoy pool side, and it was pretty good. Main dining food was much better though. We had a Chops lunch and it was good but I don’t think it was worth the extra fee. One thing we noticed is that the portions are a good size - not huge like you get at most places in the US, but enough so your not hungry. Kids menu was the same each night - crew did their best to spice it up a little.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This is an older ship and doesn’t have the bells and whistles. The big screen on the pool deck was broken and had been for months we were told. The rock climbing wall was for 6 and older and the trampoline had been removed so there weren’t any activities that our 5 year old could do. There were two nice pools in the pool deck and an indoor 16 and older pool. Would have been nice if they would let younger kids in in the sea days where it was raining but it is what it is. There were a lot of trivia and things for kids to do in the mean time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There were movies, game shows, comedians etc throughout the day with bigger shows at night. The bands and piano bar were great and we found we spent a lot of time at those.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Despite few attractions for kids there is a kids club that both our 5 and 9 year old liked. Staff were great with them. The club did fill up though and we were turned away once. The arcade is super tiny.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff are amazing and make up for the older ship with few amenities.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were in a spacious balcony room with two adults and two kids under 10. Room worked great for us. Lack of outlets is a problem but we brought US and European extenders so we could use all that was available. The room is directly above the piano bar. I would say it’s actually directly above the piano. You can definitely hear the music through the floor. It didn’t bother us too much as we liked the music and the show was over by midnight each night.
