Enchantment of the Seas

6 Night Bermuda (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: May 27, 2022

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Review summary

Love Bermuda and loved cruising from Baltimore, wish the food was a little better, and restaurants open a little longer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Close parking, $15/day, not horrible. The lines were acceptably long, (bermuda authority paperwork) but moved along.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5

Solarium with Solarium Bar

4 out of 5

The pizza wasn't to my taste, crust too thin and sauce had little flavor. (take a MSC cruise to see how pizza should be, almost as good as a couple places at home) The sandwiches on the other hand were very good, deserts were good and I liked the salads.

My Fair Lady Dining Room

4 out of 5

Service was very good, the food was pretty good, some was great. We chose my time dinning, so waited in line, but to be expected.

Windjammer Cafe

2 out of 5

Not great food and shortened hrs. Service was excellent.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We really didn't do anything but hang out by the Solarium, which we were fine with, but aside from the rock wall and the main pool, there wasn't much for younger people that we saw.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I liked the Magician and heard that the comedian was good. The show was good, the female singers were very good.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

May be time for this one to be retired, not horrible.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
No frills, inside cabin. I like the closet, nice size. The shower was very small, I'm pretty big so had to shower sideways. And you have to keep an eye on the shower curtain or risk flooding the bathroom while showering. It's an old ship, but will someone please put outlets by the bed! And give a little more room to get in and out of bed, I claimed on the bed. The bed is too low to the floor to store our luggage. ☚ī¸. The mattress was very firm. I believe you can ask the attendant for a mattress pad, may help. I used one pillow under my feet to take pressure off my lower back. My wife sleeps on her side, so she complained her hips hurt. Maybe the pad would help, we found out too late in the cruise about the option. Ask, out cabin attendants was excellent, make sure you take care of them, if you can.

Ship tip

It old, don't expect all the amenities of newer ships. If you like it quite, check out deck 10, forward or aft. Or the chairs on the promenade was nice, seem to be the smoker section, but there is plenty of free space and you have a great view, close to the water.

Let me clarify its not a horrible ship at all.... And all the positives of the island and ease of leaving from soo close to home. We had a good time overall, food was the main negative, and it wasn't horrible. Lord was it good to get back to it! 😁

Thanks for the review. I'll be doing the same cruise in August. Enchantment is supposed to leave Baltimore the end of March 2023 and be replaced by Vision of the Seas in May 2023.

Nice, although this young adult always finds something to do.
