Enchantment of the Seas to Bermuda is a cruise I will seek out again. Docking in a port for three days let us get a really good sense of the port without the pressure of returning to the ship in short time. The staff of this classic ship really went out of their way to make our time fun and special.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The Baltimore port workers were still trying to get organized after COVID. The lines moved quickly, but there was some disorganization.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I believe that the fact this is an older ship meant they tried harder with things like the food. The staff were extremely eager to please the passengers. Once again, this is an older ship, so the selections were much more limited.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Cruise staff went out of their way to keep everyone busy and entertained. The cruise director Eric is a real gem.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The main shows left something to be desired. The content was kind of just generic variety type things. Not bad, but also not memorable.
Children's Programs
We don not have kids.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were exemplary. Our room attendant Aleus went above and beyond. Our main dining team of John, Joko, and Afizel offered some of the best service I've had on any cruise. Everyone was top notch!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was spotless! I would like to see RCL refurbish these Vision class ships. Baltimore harbor is limited to shorter ships because of bridges. I would very much like to see Royal to continue having cruises out of Baltimore and newer ships will likely be needed in the near future.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This cabin was excellent. The ship is a bit older, so expectations should be adjusted. The cabin had a small couch, desk and chair, and was more spacious than I expected. We really were impressed by the cabin for the price, and we slept and relaxed in great comfort.
Ship tip
Consider how convenient the cruise is, and the price. This is an older ship offering a more classic experience. If you expect a floating amusement park, you will have to look to other ports. Baltimore harbor is only accessable for shorter ships. You will likely never see an Oasis or Odyssey class able to get past the Bay Bridge.
I will be seeking out more time in Bermuda. We never once felt uncomfortable. At the port, there were public guides that would help you find things every Bermudian we met was friendly and helpful. We rode their public transit and spent a great deal of time exploring. It is really expensive, but I'd take that over cheaper Caribbean islands where even the secured areas feel sketchy.
Your comments about the ships and the Francis Scott Key Bridge are on the mark. I enjoy watching as the ship sails out to see how close the top most antenna gets to the bottom of the bridge. I'll be doing your cruise in August and like you, I plan to explore on my own. I'm not crazy about the $40 fee Bermuda started. Like the others, I'm glad you had a good time.
