Review summary

Based on the service and tiredness of the ship this was quite possibly the worst cruise I've been on. I was on the slightly older Grandeur last year and that was a much better experience. At this point unless she undergoes a major refurbishment I will never sail on the Enchantment again. This is a real shame since Royal is selling the Grandeur and the Enchantment is moving to Baltimore and will be the closest ship to me in the future.

Embarkation

Wonderful people in the port. Walked right on with no waiting at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Overall the food was pretty good. Main dining room service was good. Service in the Windjammer was lacking. Comparing to the Grandeur from last year which is the same class ship the service was just not at all the same.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I love shipboard trivia and there was lots of it. They also had lots of "game show" type things that are always fun to watch. There is always something to do if you take the time to find it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I only went to the two production shows but they were excellent. Such talented singers and dancers.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
My room steward should get a 6. The main dining room staff I'd give a 3. One night the waiter forgot an entree for one member of our party and that same night forgot a dessert for another member of our party. Our under waiter never did remember everyone's drink preferences or get things to us in a timely fashion. If I ask for tea with my dessert I'd like to have before they've cleared the dessert plates. Bar staff I'd give a 4.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Design and layout are just fine. The ship is old and it shows. The furniture and carpet are dated. There is a lot of rust. She needs a major overhaul.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
For this class of ship the size of the cabin was as expected. It is spacious and comfortable. Kept very clean by Silvio our cabin attendant. However it was still worn out and dated feeling.
