Review summary

It was a good 1st cruise, but my son and I talked about taking a cruise next time with a larger ship that has more teen things for him to do. A lot of the kids on our ship were younger, not many high school aged kids, and if there were they had friends along with them so we may bring someone next time as well.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The process of getting on to the ship was easy and not congested.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good and there were many selections on the menu to choose from. However, there was only 1 place open when the buffet & dining room were closed. And the only food item they served was pizza. I thought there would be more places open all day. Was a little disappointed by this, as my son would get hungry around 3, just after the 2 restaurants closed. There was no place to grab fries or chips. Will do more research next time.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Because the ship was so small, the gym did not have showers. The pools were packed with children's, so you were only able to jump in & get out. A lot of the activities were scheduled when we already had plans to do something else, but there were a lot of things to choose from.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great performances!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was incredibly nice. Research your rooms location b/c ours was under the bar area & people would drag chairs across the floor @ all hours of the night, even in the early morning with the cleaning people.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It's an older ship but was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Room 3098 directly under the bar. Avoid this room unless you want to wake up at all hours (12:30, 1:45, 2:45 3:48 & 5:30 am) having chairs being dragged across the floor. Shower & bathroom small & decor is outdated.

Ship tip

Avoid room 3098

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico Did not visit port

Didn't sign up for

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We signed up for the Fury catamaran w/ snorkeling & beach activities. It was a blast!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It was crowded getting off the boat & the back up in Galveston looks like it's going to take forever to get through, but the lines move fast.
