Review summary

It was a very fun cruise for our first. We loved the ship and all of the activities, entertainment and food. Very disappointed that we didn’t get to Cococay and Nassau is not very nice so I suggest you do an excursion there or taxi to Cabbage Beach or walk to Junkanoo for free.

Embarkation

Ship left on time. The sail away party near the pool was fun.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent. We ate in the main dining room on the first night, the solarium for late night pizza (that was amazing), and in the windjammer for dinner. The food in the Windjammer was delicious and beautifully displayed. We also had room service for breakfast and ate on our balcony.

Pool Bar

3 out of 5

Takes forever to get a drink. The bartenders would literally ignore us and most were not very pleasant. Tipping did not make them come around any faster. On another note, the drinks were great!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools are really small. We didn’t swim but basically stood in them and danced. The pool in the Solarium in the least busiest. The hot tubs say that they are open 24 hours but we only saw 1 that was. The others had nets in them to keep people out at night. My BF did the rock wall and loved it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The band by the pool was fun. We participated in Battle of the Sexes, Quest and saw a comedian. All were a lot of fun and very entertaining. We really love the crew members flag parade.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Sadly, the drink service was not that great. It takes forever to get a drink anywhere on the ship. The bartenders by the pool flat out ignore you. Sometimes they push around a cart with drinks which was wonderful if you just want to get a quick beer. We tipped a girl $20 to “take care of us” by the pool and she never came back. She actually went off duty. I don’t recommend doing that. The one bartender said, Oh, they always say they will take care of you and don’t-lol. Our Steward was nice but he didn’t do anything special.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We loved this ship. It’s a smaller and older ship but it is extremely well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. We did wipe down everything with Clorox wipes before we even unpacked. We sprayed with Lysol as well. We didn’t use the coffee make because it looked dirty.

Ship tip

Just have fun and enjoy the ship.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Cocoa Beach is fun. We stayed at the Raddison the is close to the port. They have a shuttle that will bring you to the ship for $20 per person. Not worth it. We took a Lyft for $9. Just know what terminal you need to go to.

Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is super crappy. People harass you the second you step off the ship. There are people shouting in your face for taxi rides and excursions. We didn’t book one and decided to take a water taxi to the Atlantis. Sounded fun. It was awful. Take a regular taxi instead. We walked through the Atlantis to get to Cabbage Beach. It was super windy so we didn’t stay long but it is a nice beach. If you are planning to go to Nassau with out an excursion and just want to walk around, the main road is very intense. Locals in your face almost the entire time. Which is a shame because there are fun bars to go to but it can be intimidating. We went to the Pirate Brewery, Fat Tuesday’s, the Bearded Clam and Senor Frogs. If you want a less intense walk, go one more block in to Bay Street. That’s where all of the really expensive shops are like Cartier etc. It seemed like the locals were not allowed on the street to solicit. It was a nicer more relaxed walk. We walked past the Hilton and a new hotel being built and found Junkanoo Beach. It was great for drinks and a bit of local food and flare. It’s free too! They do offer $30 for the day for endless drinks. There were some locals trying to sell stuff on the beach but they kindly walked away when we declined.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

3 out of 5
So disappointed that we did not get to visit this port. It was too windy to tender there so we got stuck in crappy Nassau for an extra 1/2 day. I’ve read that 3 times out of 4, you don’t get to go to Cococay. Why bother having it as a destination then?

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation was a little bit of a nightmare. We tried to get off of the ship and they made us turn around and go to customer service because I owed $9 on my bill. My bill had a CC attached but for some reason they accidentally didn’t run it for the $9. The line for customer service was about 30 people deep and it took a while. I suggest going there the night before to see if you need to settle any bills.
