Review summary

I greatly enjoyed the ports we visited by I found the conditions on the ship to be somewhat hideous. While the staff and our room attendant was excellent, the ship definitely showed it's age despite being "upgraded" a few years ago. I've traveled with Royal Caribbean on a number of cruises and this is the first time I've seen one of their ships in such horrible conditions.

Entertainment

You would think that if you design a large ship catered to people that mostly want to get away from it all grab some sun, that you would make enough room for them. Not so, every sea day, the pool deck was so ridiculously cramped with people in the pool area that there were no lounge chairs available (anywhere), no room in the pool, and no space to walk. The pools were quite small and if you happened to be able to get your foot in the water, you were probably kicking someone or being packed tightly between two people. The casino was also one of the worst I've seen on any ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Apparently, some staterooms had been completely remodeled but unfortunately, ours did not fall under that category. While cruise showers are known to be as cozy as coffins, this particular shower did not have a door that encloses the shower like many newer ships do. Instead, we had a shower curtain that might as well not be there in the first place given that no matter how hard we tried to ensure water did not leak out, we would fail miserably. Not only did water leak out, we might as well have used the entire bathroom as a shower once the matter was on. The water drain on the shower as well as the bathroom itself was quite disgusting. The TV in the stateroom was horrible and we could not even swivel it to try to catch some port information or movie when we went to bed.

Playa Mia beach was a great place to hang out. Lots of watersports, open bar, and buffet lunch.

Pros: Service Was Excellent

Cons: Ship Was Outdated, Crowded...
