Review summary

This was our 21st cruise, many of them with Princess, and one our top five favorites! The ship was very, very comfortable, the ports were super, the staff friendly and professional, and most of all the peaceful and restful vacation we needed. Thank you for making our Christmas vacation fabulous. We are already searching for Christmas 2024.

Embarkation

Embarkation went smoothly once we were in the correct line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We chose to eat in the main dining room for each evening meal. Our waiter (Milorad aka Misha) and his assistant (Andrea) made each evening memorable. The food was good but not as nice as Princess use to serve in the past, limited choices and not very diverse. However, it was still good and very adequate.

Onboard Activities

Did not participate in any. N/A

Entertainment

Perhaps it is my age, but I only enjoyed about 50% of the shows attended. Three of the shows attendees got up and left, myself included two times. Considering the age of the crowd vs. the types of performances (crudeness of comedians, singer that was crude and racially raw) perhaps an evaluation of the general age of the audience should be considered. My personal favorite was actually two Asian ladies who played the violin and cello. I would have purchased a CD of their music if one was available. When I inquired about it, I was informed that none of the performers would be selling CDs. Sad.

Service and Staff

All of the staff we interacted with were absolutely wonderful. Your people are hard workers and we cannot thank them enough for making our cruise excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I have cruised on many of the Princess ships and Enchanted is by far my favorite!!! From the comfortable layout to the decorations, it was worthy of its name... enchanting! It was clean and seemed to be well maintained. MY BIGGEST THANK YOU AND PRAISE goes to the openness of deck 7 and the public seating area made available until the specialty restaurants were opening. We found ourselves sitting (along with many others) at the tables, enjoying the area to play cards and games, enjoying the comfort of a cup of coffee and sweet, or just listening to the music being played below. PLEASE keep this precious seating area available for us who enjoy the R&R on ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was very, very comfortable. The bed was the best we have ever had on a Princess ship. The size seemed small, but was adequate for our needs. The cleanliness detail needs a little help. Cleaning beside the beds next to the nightstands especially. I loved our balcony and spent every morning out there enjoying my coffee. Again, we couldn't asked for better.

Ship tip

Be ready to have an amazing cruise!!!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Didn't do any excursions. Airport to the cruise ship and back. No comments to share.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Our time at Princess Cays we wonderful. The beach setup with chairs and a few covers was perfect. The sea and beach area was perfect for a day of R&R. The lunch was excellent!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Our excursion was the Sea Trek Helmet Dive at Coral World Ocean Park. It was an absolute MUST for those who love to snorkel but not ready to be a full-on diver.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

2 out of 5
I am giving this port a two-star rating due to being denied our excursion (Rhino Rider Boat Adventure & Happy Bay), after we had waited for over an hour for the host to tell us we did not meet the restrictions and she released us to go back to the ship. As it turns out, it was so late that we didn't get to do anything but go back to the ship and we didn't spend time actually visiting Philipsburg.

St. John's, Antigua

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion; however, walked down to the shops and returned to the ship after just about a hour. We have visited Antigua on previous cruises and it's a "good" port.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
We enjoyed our time on St. Kitts. The Scenic Railway Ride and Circle Island Drive was enjoyable.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
FIVE STARS +++ This turned out to be our favorite stop of the cruise. We did the Jost Van Dyke Island Beach Break & Scenic Cruise and loved every minute of our time. We could have stayed much longer than the excursion was due to the beauty of the beach, the comfort of climate, etc. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!!!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Princess disembarkation was smooth as always.
