Review summary

The cruise ship was nice and very clean. Due to Covid ports of call were very difficult to get off the ship and really do some sight seeing and shopping. Cruise ship staff were very polite. Food in the dining rooms was very good. Casino was very small, the dealers had no idea what they were doing and made the wrong payouts several times, getting a drink would take 15-20 minutes. The shopping on board was terrible, selection was very poor, no deals to be had on jewelry or liquor. Liquor selection was also poor unless you wanted rum. Cafeteria style dining service was very poor and very unorganized. I can only imagine what a disaster if would have been if the ship was full. The show variety was terrible!! I have been on several cruises with Celebrity, NCL and RCL, this was my first with Princess and probably my last. The ports of call were of interest to us but I understand nothing the cruise line can do about local government regulations. The ship was very clean and the food good but then I can so the same about most cruise ships. This one had nothing special to offer, I have never been on a cruise seen so many walkers and hove arounds before. Diffidently a cruise for the aged!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Not very many people cruising so it was very easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was excellent, getting drinks service was very slow

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
No onboard activities due to Covid to speak of. Fitness facilities were clean but basic. Pool areas were nice except for the stupid Christmas movies they kept playing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
A few shows were cancelled so not much to choose from.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was great, dining room waiter would talk over you and try to answer your question before you asked them. Main dining room or cafeteria service was very slow.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Small room but very clean and nicely decorated.

Ship tip

If you are over 65 and do not care for onboard activities this is the cruise for you.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
No excursion

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Been there done that.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Shopping deals were not that great, several stores were closed, selection was poor

St. John's, Antigua

2 out of 5
Due to Covid you could only visit the shopping at the port unless you had booked an excursion. The shopping was only 2 blocks long and felt like you could get mugged if you went down the wrong street.

Bridgetown, Barbados

2 out of 5
Shopping was only permitted at the Covid Dome, not very clean, nothing to speak of.

Castries, St. Lucia

3 out of 5
Shopping only at the port, selection was better and clean but not great.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
Did the Romney Manor tour which was very nice, beautiful island

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
quick and easy due to low turnout.
