Review summary
8/10 would have been 10/10 if there had been any night life and if I could have slept, slept in, or even taken a nap lol
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Got to the port early and was on the ship before 11. Super fast and easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Windjammer for breakfast and lunches and the food didn’t change too much daily but was good, for the most part hot. They had a hamburger and hotdogs in a certain spot while they cleaned the Windjammer in the afternoon.
Main dining was good as usual, there was once when my escargot was weirdly dry in the part that wasn’t covered in butter. But everything else was good!
I did the Bottomless Brunch Galley Tour and the food was phenomenal. I had the best filet mignon I have ever had.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There’s a lot of trivia. There’s the usual Belly flop and Sexiest man competition, the Quest (I never miss this game!) and assorted games. I watch a couple of the comedy shows and they were good, didn’t watch any of the broadway type shows. The night life on this ship dies down pretty quickly, definitely an older crowd (we had a ton of top tier cruisers) and not much going on after 10. Tried to do yoga twice and they had no sign up sheet and no attendant to even ask about it.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The band Mass Effect was the live Caribbean band and they were good, the comedians were fun too. I didn’t see any of the stage shows
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff on this ship are happy and friendly. I rarely walked by anyone without hearing a greeting. My room attendant was attentive but rarely seen; I don’t care to have my room cleaned twice daily so that was fine for me. I got to meet a few of the ships senior staff and they are very friendly and made my trip very nice. Thanks Anthony (M&R director!)

The Windjammer is largely wrap around and many people didn’t realize there was different food all the way around. The glass everywhere made the ocean available to view a lot and I loved that. The fitness center is awkward, seemed as though they had no where else to stick it so it’s above the Viking Crown lounge, which is weird when there are events going on in the bar below. I never noticed anything dirty.
Cabin / Stateroom

This room is at the very front of the ship. It’s window is a port hole which was fine. The biggest problem was the maintenance door right next to it. As the employees came and went the door slammed, shaking my room the ENTIRE time. 3pm, 2am, back and forth even after I spoke with guest services. I also heard the anchors dropping each port day at 5 am. I didn’t sleep much in this vacation. I also learned that I don’t want a front oceanview room ever again. I just want to warn others about this because I am pretty easy to please but theirs was sooo annoying and I’m exhausted.
Ship tip
Don’t not book room 4500, unless you don’t sleep ever. Seriously if it has this door next to they SLAM IT all day and night long.
First time here I shared a cab into the little town of Mahuahal (sp?) which was more traditional. You will be asked about receiving massage/viewing shops/fishing trips etc while walking the small board walk. Sometimes they even follow you a bit. Not scary for me but may be for first time cruisers. The port itself was over priced and almost a maze to get in and out of. I didn’t see anything there that got my attention.
The new pool is amazing. The bar service was good and consistent, it’s a beautiful island. I didn’t do any of the slides and such but still had a great time. I miss the rustic feel of the old island but the pool was so good with plenty of chair and lounger for everyone.
I love Cozumel. This time I got a pass to Mr Sanchos and I know a lot of people recommend it I didn’t find it all that special. They will keep your drink filled but the pool was hot and cloudy with god knows what floating it in. The food was ok. They didn’t have any entertainment or games or anything that I saw. Cozumel port was good as usual, I think next time I’ll explore more and resort less.
Didn’t do an excursion. But I did walk around a bit, not very exciting but I was off the ship early so maybe I missed some stuff. Seems to me that unless you have an excursion you should stay onboard until the bars open. I got some key lime pie and returned to the ship
I had a late flight so I stayed on as long as I could. I only had a carry on so I was able to easily debark, get through customs and to the airport quickly.
