Great west coast cruise for a first timer. by Mgord55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Great cruise for my wife and I as we were first time cruisers. The whole trip was great. The ship was off the hook! The tours were awesome and well run. The only issue was The Los Angeles tour. The guides were great but the city was disappointing especially Hollywood. I expected it to be a lot more than what is was. Oh well it’s off the bucket list now!

This was our first 1... by PosLattitute

Ship: Emerald Princess

This was our first 1 day cruise and I was skeptical. We had a ball! Lots of live music, it was everywhere. Being Princess the food was as expected: fantastic. Staff was friendly and shop was clean. Would do it again.

First time on Princess Cruise by debrahi71

The cruise was excellent. The food outstanding. service was great. Tina Latinia and Lewis on the Lido deck outside bar were the only 2 who were not friendly or annoying.

Perfect weather,,,well, almost! by imfortune8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship itself was pretty grand and well kept. I especially enjoyed the Princess Patter and the captains summary at the very end. I snuck views of the cabins across the hall from me with windows, very nice, but there was never a shortage of chairs on the 15th deck or around the ship’s circumference to sit and admire the views. I wished I had awoken earlier to see the spectacular scenery through Tracy Arm though. I Never saw bananas on the buffet line but always asked for and received one. All buffet lines were Not created equal. One had bagels and lox and the cook made you omelettes. Wish I had realized that earlier!

Beautiful... by wanderlust1980

Ship: Emerald Princess

Beautiful ship!! Friendly staff, no matter where you were or what you needed they were always willing to help. Quick & easy security, embarkation & disembarkation. Cabin: C750, aft balcony vista suite. Let me just say it was worth every penny. Lots of extras: complimentary mini bar (1time), fresh flowers and fruit baskets, snacks randomly brought to our room, champagne on arrival to our suite, complimentary laundry services, daily bottles of water, special dining...I could go on and on! Reynaldo attended to our suite and was wonderful. The extra space was nice, as I packed way too much 😬. We enjoyed the jetted bathtub after long, cool days of walking around the ports. Last but definitely not least: the balcony. I did a lot of reading before booking this cruise and all the reviews were right about this one. GET THE BALCONY!! You will not regret it!! We spent so much time on it, or sitting on the couch looking out with the door open listening to the wakes. We saw more whales, eagles and seals while sitting on our balcony than anywhere else! Food: We usually ate breakfast or lunch at the buffet and there was always a variety of food we liked. Some a little bland but that is to be expected when feeding so many different people. The main dining rooms were pretty good. They had a set menu for the week and specials that changed daily. We ordered room service for breakfast a few mornings when we were getting off the ship early. We were offered specialty dining at Crown Grill the first night. We both got the filet and it was delicious. My birthday happened to fall the last night of our cruise and we were gifted a free dinner at their specialty restaurant Share. If you have an opportunity to eat here, do it!! It was 6 courses and all were perfection! Entertainment: It was good for us. We are pretty laid back; we spent a few nights in our room playing cards and having cocktails. And that was just fine because we were too tired after walking around ports all day. This cruise is an older crowd for the most part so things were overall pretty quiet after 10-11. We did go to Club Fusion a couple nights after dinner and watched bands and karaoke. That was fun! We played bingo a few times, even won $80 once!! The casino was nice also. I’m sure there was much more to do had we wanted to get into something. Overall we had a blast! No real complaints. We had to go to the passenger services desk a few times regarding charges but they were always taken care of. For instance: we purchased the internet package at a discount but were charged full price. This was only my second cruise. My first a Caribbean cruise with Carnival about 7 years ago. To compare, Princess does it right! Now this may be because of the suite perks (we had an inside room with Carnival). Princess seemed much more elegant. The food and entertainment were a tad better with Carnival from what I remember. But again, I have no complaints and had an unforgettable time on the Emerald Princess! I hope to be back soon for more adventures 💕

An awesome experience by 2018PrinAlas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

It was my second cruise and my husbands first cruise. I am so happy that my husband enjoyed himself. When I asked him if he would consider going on another cruise, his answer was "yes". There is so much to say about the staff that we encountered in the Horizon Buffet and the Michael angelo restaurant. Simply but - they are like family. We love them.

We just got back from... by charleneh87

Sail date: /
Ship: Emerald Princess

We just got back from our crusie on Sunday! We had a total blast. This was our first crusie so we really don't have anything before hand to compare it to. The ship was amazing, staff was as well! The entertainment was good. The buffet was so so. The little places to eat off deck 15 we're pretty good. The dinning room food was good as well. We didn't try the specialty resatuarnts so I can't speak much on them. The only thing I did do that I really didn't like was the water color painting they had. It wasn't fun you got three mintues to paint and then someone added on which can be fun but was not what I was expecting nor anyone else. It should of been described differently in the description. We did enjoy our ports and shopping in the local stores to support the local shop owners.

The ship itself is fine. The room was fine. Our hall smelled of urine on occasion. The food has generally average ./poor. Crown grill was great. Naturalist was interesting . Entertainment was ok . Too much “up selling “. Well organized staff . Not enough fitness classes .Fitness classes are only offered very early in the morning.
