We would definitely do another Princess Cruise. We loved the Emerald Princess. All the staff were friendly and the food was amazing in the main dining room. Don’t let the age of this ship detour you from booking on her. My husband I could have stayed on the ship another week! We loved the medallions and easy access to opening the door to your room and paying. The room and bed were amazing. The activities during the day and evenings were very good. I can’t say enough how much fun we had.
Embarkation

We walked our luggage over from our hotel and boarded the ship without any problems. It was a smooth process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room food was absolutely superb. It was the best I have ever had on a cruise ship. I did give 4 stars as the buffet wasn’t very good or the salty dog gastro pub. We did eat at the steakhouse on board and it was delicious.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I did go to the fitness center every day and even did a couple classes of yoga and stretch. The equipment they have is better than the health club I am a member of at home. NICE!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The musician they had on board was great. The singers and dancers were not so great. Just average.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff on board were so helpful and friendly. You could tell they loved the ship and work. Our room steward did an impeccable job. Our stateroom was perfect.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Now I must say, this is an older ship. That being said, it was clean and well-maintained. It just needed some new updated pictures on the walls, etc. The pool area is where most of the age is seen.
Cabin / Stateroom

The obstructed is just that…. A view of a lifeboat. We could, however, see the ocean out the window. The room was huge with a flat screen tv. The bed was so comfortable. I would go on the Emerald princess again just for that bed! The bathroom and shower were small. The shower especially was ridiculous! If you are a large person you won’t be happy with the shower. My room number was E220. Right over the theater, but it was quiet with no noise whatsoever.
Ship tip
It is an amazing ship with an amazing cruise director. However, bypass the salty dog gastropub. The drinks on this cruise were the best we have ever had as well as the food in the main dining room. This was our first Princess cruise and we were really happy with it overall. Would definitely book Princess again.
