Review summary

We enjoyed this cruise very much! We loved the fact that the times in port were long, allowing us to do and see a lot! We very much appreciated having the sea days in between each port day to rest up for the next port day!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
A little bit of confusion with the embarkation lines. We've been told that since we booked a suite, we should be in a priority line, but never found that. The lines outside were long, but seemed to keep moving, for the most part. Once inside the building, the lines moved along faster. The person who checked us in was very knowledgable and friendly!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was always good (not exceptional), and the variety was great. Enjoyed the Dining Room, but it took a long time to get through dinner. (2 1/2 hrs in dining room). We enjoyed the steak house twice, which was our favorite! Great food and exceptional service!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the daily activities put on by the crew, as well as the amenities such as the casino, the different pools, Movies Under the Stars, gym, walking track, stores, etc.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The production shows (singing/dancing) that we saw were great, just wish there were more production shows on a cruise this long. The variety shows were good, just prefer the production-style shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service on Emerald was Excellent by nearly every person we came in contact with! Our room steward, Christina was very friendly and attentive! She kept our room immaculate & made sure we always had everything we needed. Veronica in the casino was fantastic, as well!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the design & layout of Emerald Princess. It's an older ship, but very nice and easy to get around, especially for our elderly mother.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We enjoyed this room very much! The sliding glass door would slide back and forth if it was not locked, but other than that, it was a great room!

Ship tip

Get to the theater early. Seats tend to fill up fast!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
We always like sailing from Ft. Lauderdale!

Charleston, South Carolina

5 out of 5
Enjoyed most of the day at Magnolia Plantation, then came back to Charleston and explored the area near the port. (Rented a car from Turo)

Norfolk, Virginia

5 out of 5
Enjoyed our day at Colonial Williamsburg! Would definitely go visit there again. So much to see and learn about! We rented a car (Turo) and liked having the freedom to go when we wanted. We even stopped at Walmart for a few things on our way back to the ship!

New York, New York

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the long in-port day! (Back on board time was midnight!) It gave us plenty of time to explore the area and do and see several things!

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed visiting Boston! Also appreciated the longer in-port time!

Sydney, Nova Scotia

SAGUENAY, QUEBEC, CANADA

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
Another port that we really enjoyed and appreciated plenty of time here! Loved this city and would like to go back for another visit!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation went very smoothly and fast. Sad to leave the ship, tho!
