It truly was the trip of a lifetime for us. Thanks
Embarkation

They met us at the airport, led us through the airport to the busses and got us to the cruise terminal with little effort on our part.
Only hiccup at the terminal was our fault. We’d packed our medallions in our checked luggage, which Princess had already taken to the loading area. They quickly got us key cards and instructions on what to do onboard.

Food and Dining

Most of the food was ok. A few things stood out in both directions, but we were well served and took into account the fact that the cruise lines are still suffering from the Covid effect.

Service and Staff

Our cabin steward…whose name I never knew…was exceptional as were the staff we came into contact with in nearly every venue…especially the bartenders.
Ship Quality

A lot of rust & paint issues. I understand the hull needing to go into dry dock to take care of, but there was a lot of rust issues on the balconies & pool areas as well. Lots of things broke down during our 12 days onboard. But we didn’t let any of the above damper the great time we had on our “trip of a lifetime”.
Unfortunately good help is hard to find everywhere these days and I’m sure Princess is no different with regard repair people. Plus in these financial times I’m guessing they’re focused on passenger comfort more than aesthetics.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was ample with a nice balcony. Furniture was very dated and when they went to flat screens, rather than removing the old tv center they just left it as counter space. This was our first cruise so we weren’t familiar with the tiny bathroom. We’ve since booked mini suites in our upcoming cruises, mostly for the bathroom.
Our cabin steward and room service took great care of us.
Ship tip
Unless you’re sailing Club Class, book the Botticelli as your MDR. Its much less crowded than the other.
They instructed us to put luggage tags on and picked up our bags the night before. What they failed to tell us was that WE had to pick up our 6 bags and transport them to the buses. I’m 70 and the terminal in Southampton is about 100 yards long. Our bags were at the far end. The luggage carts were at the beginning of the building so I had to schlep back to the beginning and make two trips to get carts down to the other end.
Additionally, my wife tried to get a cart when we entered the building and an employee…of either Princess or the terminal told her to get back in line and shoved her.
